Hi,

my name is Julia, I'm a 33 yrs old research assistant in the field of health&prevention and a nature enthusiast. I like spending time outdoors and around animals, doing sports, hiking in the mountains or working in the garden.

For workaway-projects I think I can be helpful with a variety of tasks: those outdoors and caring for animals, or cleaning and tidying up spaces, growing veggies and tending to gardens. I also like cooking healthy meals or baking occasionally...I am very interested in learning new skills, for example I would love to know more about building things myself (especially in an environmentally friendly way), or would like to see more examples of permaculture...

In 2025 I'm travelling together with my boyfriend Lukas and dog Lavara to discover different regions of Italy or the Alps and eventually find a spot where we would like to live permanently. We are dreaming of having a small farm one day and would like to get some experience beforehand.

My dog is a super calm, friendly Elo, who does not bark or hunt and is well trained. She is used to living among other free-ranging (farm)animals, humans, dogs, etc.

I am looking for hosts where I can harmonise the hours of tasks for the host with my work schedule (I work 3 days remotely for my research-assistant job in a project for child-obesity prevention, mostly time-flexible). I usually prefer to start with the routines/tasks for the host in the morning, but I can adapt and adjust my schedule well.

Me and my boyfriend are really independet as workawaying-guests and don't expect any entertainment from our hosts, we have our own car and bikes with us, we can do our own grocery-shopping and cooking... Of course, we love to share a meal and some good conversations, we simply don't expect it from you if it's a busy time. My boyfriend works full time for his company, he would need a desk and a quiet spot with Wifi. He has long hours and little flexibility, so it would be best, if you consider only me for your tasks. In exchange we would be happy to buy and cook our own meals or I can work on the weekends as well.

What else...At home I used to be an instructor for sports courses (high intensity intervall training) and relaxation courses, I'm happy to share some knowledge in this area or do workouts together/offer workouts for your guests (if you have holiday accom. for example).

Past travel experiences:
-gap-year travelling in Australia, doing for example some polo-grooming, some work in a backpacker hostel and a job as a live-in nanny for a family with 2 children
-organic farmstay with Projecte Miranda in Spain (via a different platform). On the mountain place of Pla de l'orri, which is where this wonderful place is located, I took care of the animals (chicken, 11 dogs, donkeys, 35 rescue horses, cats), fixing fences, cutting fire wood, painting, weeding in the veggie garden.
- Austrian sheep farm, helping with milking and making cheese (if you like to ask them for a feedback, I can pass on contact details, they are not on this platform)
-Sardinia: farm/small camping site: caring for the place while the owner was away a few weeks, cutting grass, bushes, small repair works for the sanitary facilities, assisting the camping guests, feeding chicken&goose (very recent, I can pass on a contact here as well)

We are non-smokers and wish to stay only with non-smoking hosts.
