Hello everybody :),

My name is Hannah and I am looking forward to meeting you soon in person. First of all I would like to say that I am very excited about the chance of taking a gap year and traveling to Canada. It is a pleasure to be a part of this community.

I am from Dresden, a city in the east of Germany. I am 18 years old and graduated from high school in the summer of 2023. I would like to use the year after school to gain new experiences in Canada. The country with its beautiful nature has always fascinated me. I am a very open person and go with the will to dare a step out of my comfort zone into the coming year.
I would describe myself as a very creative person. I like to tinker and build new things. DIY is already something like a life motto. I enjoy the beauty of nature but also bustling and exciting cities do not scare me. I always like to face fresh challenges and get involved in new situations.
I have three little brothers (14,11 and 3 years old) and I love to take care of them. Often, I pick them up from kindergarten or school and I always like to do that. Just as I like to help them with their homework or have an open ear for problems. Of course, an extended round of trampolining in the garden may not be missing.
I am also very fond of animals and I love my little cat.
I love to travel. In Europe I have visited many countries including France, Italy, Croatia Hungary, Denmark, Sweden and many more. My longest trips were to the USA and Vietnam. Each trip has been enriching in its own way and has broadened my horizons.
From my trip to Canada, I hope to have a nice time getting to know the country and its people.

This year I graduated from high school in German and French. I have also had 10 years of English classes. (I had four years of Spanish as well) Nevertheless, I am still very excited to improve my language skills, because languages are learned through application and I am certainly not perfect :) Of course I am also happy to teach others my native language (German) or my learned languages.

I speak fluent German (mother tongue), English and French, a little Spanish is also possible.
I like to be creative and paint and draw a lot, I collect the works in a large folder. I also love crafts and like to use our sewing machine for various small projects. Besides, I am always happy when there is furniture to build.
Here in Dresden I tutor physics and French. I like to share my knowledge with others and expand my own through others.
One of my passions is cooking. I like to try out new recipes and regularly meet with friends for cooking evenings.
Of course, exercise should not be neglected either. Long walks in nature are a must, because I can satisfy my love for flowers and other plants. Until this summer, I also danced regularly (especially standard dances, such as tango, waltz, cha-cha... I also started teaching others how to dance). To relax, a round of yoga is never wrong.

I like to take care of my three little brothers whom I love very much and I furthermore have experience with babysitting.

I have a driver's license.
