Hi there! We live in a great neighborhood in Montreal. I am a single mom with two active, fun kids aged 5 and 12, and our home is our peaceful little sanctuary. Because my time and energy are naturally limited balancing work and family, we love welcoming travelers who can bring a positive, grounded, and independent presence into our space.
We really appreciate the true spirit of Workaway; open communication, mutual respect, and sharing our space. That said, this is a busy family home, not a hotel or a structured program. We do best with mature, self-regulated volunteers who are here to genuinely help ease the load, rather than anyone who needs extra emotional management, a set schedule handed to them, or constant direction.
For projects around the house like painting, organizing, or deep cleaning it is really important to me that things are done the way our family needs them to run smoothly. Being open to feedback and happy to adjust how you do a task without taking it personally is an absolute must here. We also need you to be fully independent outside of helper hours; you should be completely comfortable managing your own free time, exploring the city, and handling things like homesickness on your own.
While the main projects are around the house, there will be times when I need you watch the kids on your own for short stretches. Because of that, you must have real experience with young children, feel totally confident keeping basic safety boundaries, and genuinely enjoy the natural, high-energy environment of a 5 and 12year-old.
