Hi,
I’m a second year dentistry student who loves traveling.
As my mother is a travel agent I have visited a plenty of different places since I was a child.
At the age of 16 I have been by my own to Australia for 6 weeks, hosted by distant relatives I didn’t know before seeing them there.
I also have a part time job at a poke store.
I love helping people and hanging out with polite, kind and smart ones from whom I can learn anything.

Aloha everyone
Writing this text on the plane on my way back home, super sad I left paradise but extremely happy and grateful for the stunning experience I have just had.
I'll start by saying that this was certainly one of the best months of my life, I think it's a spectacular experience and I recommend anyone to contact Synnora to work for her… read more little farm.
Can't lie about the work, it's dirty and sometimes a bit heavy. It mainly consists of giving water and food to the animals, cleaning the baby chicken room, collecting eggs, giving water to the plants, doing occasional gardening and above all doing a lot of cleaning in the house (sweeping and mopping, dusting, reorganizing spaces, cleaning the kitchen and bathrooms). Synnora is super precise and patient so if you have any questions just ask her!
Depending on the day, work can be more or less hard and this also depends on how many workawayers there are at the same time (the more you are the easier it gets).
But believe me, it's absolutely worth it!
As for the family, it is a spectacular, united family that loves each other and shows it every day. They are all kind to us volunteers and they’ll treat you like you are part of their family. Steph the dad is super kind, nice, funny, interested in getting to know you, always tries to involve you in conversations and learn more about you and your family, Isabella the eldest daughter is a very polite and kind teenager, she doesn't speak many words but she's super sweet to you. Ayla, the youngest daughter is a wonderful little girl who is impossible not to fall in love with. She is sweet, kind, intelligent, thoughtful and she loves being with adults in fact she is much more mature than the children of her age. I love her and miss her already!
Synnora, a full-fledged mother, will treat you like her own daughter. She is always very kind to you and she tries to involve you in all the family activities. One of the things I appreciated most about her is that every day at the end of the work shift she thanks you for what you have done and makes you feel very gratified. She is super available to let you work at times other than normal work shifts because she wants you to have fun and make the most of this experience. Furthermore, she is also super helpful from a financial point of view because if you need cash you can work extra hours and she will pay you.
Finally, the dogs are the sweetest and drollest I have met in my life, I loved them!!
What can I say, a thank you will never be enough because for an entire month they made me feel part of the family.
The house is located a two minute walk from a paradisiacal beach, probably one of the most beautiful beaches on the island of Oahu and from which you can see spectacular sunsets, I already miss those magical sunsets.
Another thing that I really liked about being hosted by Synnora and her family is that they host more volunteers at the same time and this is a very quick way to create friendships with other boys and girls from the other side of the world and share this fantastic experience with them. The beauty is that marvellous and profound relationships are created in a very short amount of time.
The house is less than a minute walk from the bus stop. The bus takes you anywhere on the island but is very slow and you will lose a lot of time on it but it’s very cheap; also make sure to bring a sweatshirt as the air conditioning is so high!
I will miss dinners at the table with the whole family, saying the best worst and grateful of the day at the end of the meal, going to the beach after finishing work, tasting delicious dishes cooked by other volunteers, braiding little Ayla's hair, buggy boarding at the beach, laughing and joking together with the family.
I am so happy to have an Hawaiian family now, if you come to Italy one day you will be very welcome.
This was my very first experience with workaway and I couldn't be happier!
