Hey there,

I'm a 34-year-old English Language and Literature teacher from New Zealand. Before teaching, I worked in other fields and spent time travelling and living abroad. I've travelled extensively throughout Central and Eastern Europe and South East Asia. This year, I've decided to hit the open road and get back in touch with nature, good people and the inspiration that comes from being around passionate people and projects.

Through both travel and work, I've had the privilege to have come across many opportunities to discover who I am as a person. Having a positive impact on people’s lives has always mattered to me, self-exploration has allowed me to understand that and to reflect on ways to empower others. Role models in my life have instilled a desire to work collaboratively to create supportive spaces to uplift one another. I hope to participate in Workaway opportunities that allow me to do just that.

This past year I spent time in English Language Classrooms with migrant students and tourists, where I taught about New Zealand and engaged in conversation classes. These classes have been some of my favourites while teaching, with plenty of laughter, games and personal success! It would be great to find a language centre where I can participate, help and continue to develop my own skills so I can grow in confidence in this area alongside my studied teaching practice and pedagogy.

Sharing life's adventures is one of my favourite forms of communication, a welcomed way into other’s insights and enthusiasms. I hope to get the chance to experience much more, and be inspired (and inspire) others. I'm excited about this new adventure and hope to be able to share it with you.

Que habilidades tienes?

Fluent in English, have taught English on a volunteer basis and in the classroom.
Experience in painting, landscaping and farmwork (may need to refresh these skills)
Enthusiastic, industrious, and a quick learner. Willing to lend a hand to any task.
Great sense of humor (well I think so anyway!), social character at heart.
Writer/Copywriter experience through both work and social enterprises.
