Hi!

My name is Carmel, I'm a 28 y/o kindergarden teacher from the Netherlands. Last half year I substituted in grade 4 and before that I travelled in Canada, the US and Mexico. In Canada I did some wwoofing, which is a great way to meet and learn about people, the culture and day to day life.
I am interested in all kinds of things and I am eager to learn. About anything.
I feel really happy in nature, and farming was a perfect way to spend my time. I especially enjoy working hard and doing physical work. I loved helping building a garage from scratch in Canada!
But also caring for animals and working in the (vegetable) garden brings me joy.

I'm really interested in different languages and learning some words in the local language. I have a duo-lingo level of Spanish. In Río Lagartos, with friendly Mexicans around I felt secure enough to use some broken sentences. I once had a hitch in Sweden back to my wwoofing adress and the sweet, old men took me all the way to the muddy, off road farm -not his intention at first- just to be able to teach me some more Swedish words!

I've been wwoofing in Canada and years before that in Sweden, there I learned the basic farm skills:
- tending to a vegetable garden.
- taking care of animals (chickens, cows, cats, horses)
- mending fences
I helped with some carpentry work which I really enjoyed. If you've got a project going on, I'd love to help! I used a nailgun, table-saw, chainsaw before, but I'm no carpenter.

One of the wwoof places I visited during winter and functioned as a B&B around that time, so I've got some hospitality skills as well.

I enjoy cooking and I don't mind cleaning work (from time to time ;) )

I like playing boardgames, reading, making music (singing), spending time with my family, being alone in nature, hiking, rock climbing (I've been bouldering inside so far, but I'd love the oppurtunity to rock climb outside one day!)
