I'm an curious person with an adventurous heart, looking to explore more cultures and give back to the earth. I spend my time hiking, gardening, making art, and practicing yoga! And love to cook :)

Hello, I'm Cailin! I was raised in Chicago, Illinois, USA. Chicago is a pretty great city, but my true calling pulls me towards nature and sustainable living. I have fallen in love with the way this site connects people learning to live off the land (like myself) and those who have the knowledge to share (wonderful hosts), all while experiencing the true culture of a new place. While I'm in the states I work varying seasonal jobs that are focused on getting people outside. That has shown up as teaching kids in the outdoors, guiding families through the National Parks, and taking people deep into nature for backpacking. I'm a professional outdoor guide with personal hobbies of gardening, cooking, painting, and yoga. A holistic, creative life outside is the life for me! I look forward to learning and exploring with others on this site.

- knowledge in plant anatomy, soil health, and gardening techniques
- handy with tools and manual labor tasks (moving dirt is pretty therapeutic!)
- I absolutely love to cook, especially for large shared dinners and am fairly used to vegan menus
- living off-grid as a solo backpacker
- an eager desire to learn!

I spend my time gardening, hiking, creating art, practicing yoga, and enjoying the outdoors whenever I can. I cook for myself everyday (my dream is to open up a 100% sustainable restaurant/ bed and breakfast one day!) and have a lot of vegan cooking knowledge. Not a strict vegan myself, but live the plant based diet.
I'm just trying to give back to the world all that its given me, and definitely enjoying my youth!
