Hello,

My name is Cordula, I am 31 years old, married for four years (in partnership with my husband for 15 years), we don’t have any children yet, but two lovely guinea pigs. We live in the south of Germany in a little village close to Heilbronn.

My professional background:

I studied integrative health promotion, which is a generalistic study about the three main topics health, tourism and business management with the goal of integrating health in all areas of life. Personally I was particularly interested in the health topics like mindfulness and positive psychology. For my profession I thought it’s most important and meaningful to create conditions which help people live a healthy lifestyle, especially for disadvantaged target groups.

My first job was to be a receptionist in a physiotherapy practice for one and a half years. For five years I am in a city council (the city has 26.500 inhabitants) and work for the municipal social planning for elderly people. That means to create structures for a good life in older age. Together with my colleague we are also active in neighborhood development. We encourage and support the citizen to design the living together for all generations, to offer mutual support and to open or publicize meeting places for all age groups and cultures in the neighborhood. To have social contacts and support contributes a lot to health, especially for older people.

My internal process and my motivation for workaway:

For one year I have done many different things for my personal development: systemic constellation, riding therapy, feminine embodiment…My internal process started already five years ago when I moved to another city with my husband and found an awesome Iyengar yoga teacher which was and is also my personal coach.
All this helped me to discover more about myself and my unconscious topics. I had many realizations and now I feel that something must change and I also recognize that my mind changed already. Also questions arise like: how would I like to live?, what job would fit me?, who am I?, how can I find real love in myself?, how can I be satisfied and happy?

This process led me to the idea to go abroad to get closer to myself and to get clearer about these questions. I never thought about going abroad before and I also never was, except on holidays in different countries in Europe and one school exchange to Hungary. Maybe also two close friends and my sister influenced me indirectly because they travel much and that’s how I heard about workaway.

I‘d like to go to a warm country with beautiful nature and wildlife to do voluntary work for four weeks. My favorite work would be helping with and learning about things that I have never done before like permaculture and also building. I prefer physical work to get more related to my body. But I also like to share my qualities like cooking, my knowledge of health topics or teach my mother tongue german. I definitely want to get in contact with nature and I would like to live basically in nature. I also like to learn new languages.

The decisive point for me is to try a completely different life, do things consciously and feel them with all of my senses and also not just to get in connection with me but optimally hold this connection.

My interests, hobbies and character traits:

I’m interested in various topics of health, wellbeing and personal development.
I like baking and cooking and of course eating delicious healthy vegan food. My husband and I are vegan for three years.
I love nature and animals, I particularly like to do iyengar yoga once a week in group, singing (in choir), dancing, swimming and walking.
I’m very enthusiastic if it’s something I like or I am absolutely convinced of something. Other qualities of me are to motivate others and to have a good overview of things that need to be done and to structure and plan things. I attach great importance to maintain relationships and I am good at welcoming and hosting people or take care of others. If I’m really interested in something I want to get to know all aspects and information about it to implement it in my life the best way I can.

My vision:

I believe that god has a plan for me and everyone in the world and things don’t happen by chance.
My dream is to live in harmony with god’s creation in a conscious way and in happiness and love with my husband and my future family.
