Hey everyone,
my name is Amelie, and I am from Germany. This summer, I graduated from school and decided to be brave enough to start my biggest adventure yet - doing work and travel in Canada for one year. I still can't believe it, but I made it to Canada and I am currently enjoying my life in Banff.
Canada has always been a dream of mine, as I love to explore, learn about different cultures and meet new people, and challenge myself by stepping out of my comfort zone. In my few months here in Canada, I have already had the opportunity to meet wonderful people from different parts of the world. I got to hike mountains with the most beautiful views and got a glimpse in the life of real Canadians.
And this is what fascinates me about Workaway - the chance to become a part of a Canadian family. Having the chance to hear Canadian English every day and get to know the culture. Of course, I am open to exchanging my culture as well. Or share my hobbies and interests...
One of my biggest passions is music! Since the age of six I've been playing the guitar, and a few years back I started playing the piano as well. Also, I have been a hip-hop dancer since the age of five. This passion, I was able to pass on to children ages four to eight, as I was a voluntary dancing instructor back home. In my free time, I enjoy reading, walking my dog, cooking, practising yoga, and spending time with my friends. Here in Canada, I love spending time by the river, going to the yoga studio, or going for a run. Being active is even more enjoyable in such a beautiful setting.

As you can see in my profile, I am a native German speaker. So if you are interested, I would be delighted to share my language as well as my culture. If you have a passion for music, I would be happy to teach you how to play the guitar or piano, or even dance as well!
In school, I was a member of the technical team and as I got older, I had the opportunity to pass on my knowledge of sound and light engineering to the younger students. I also have experience working with younger children as a dance instructor and a tutor in math and English. Overall, I thoroughly enjoy working with children!
Apart from that, I could help in the kitchen. I enjoy cooking and would love to learn about your favourite dishes and help with household chores. I have experience in basic tasks from my time on the housekeeping team at a hotel.
