Teaching English to the students was a truly rewarding experience. The children were enthusiastic, respectful, and eager to learn, making every lesson enjoyable and meaningful. This experience gave me the opportunity not only to help the students improve their English but also to learn more about Sri Lankan culture and family life. I am very grateful for the warm hospitality, the kindness I received, and the beautiful memories I am taking home with me. I would highly recommend this project to anyone looking for an authentic cultural exchange and a meaningful volunteering experience. Thank you for everything! ❤️

Dori and Laura were the best Workawayers you could ask for. From day one, they were hardworking, reliable, and able to work completely independently. Whatever task was given to them, they took ownership of it and got it done without needing supervision. They helped with gardening, woodwork, general maintenance, and even looked after our 5-month-old baby with great care and responsibility. It was a huge help and gave us complete peace of mind. Beyond their work ethic, they were simply great people to have around: friendly, positive, easy-going, and a lot of fun to spend time with. They brought great energy to our home and quickly felt like part of the family. I would welcome them back anytime and can recommend them without hesitation to any host. If you have the chance to host Dori and Laura, take it, you won't be disappointed.

If you're looking for social persons that can gathered people together, organise games and lead the way for some activities and days trips, he's the one ! Fenomenal, desde el inicio me inspiraron confianza, son una pareja con mucha alegría que transmiten a cada segundo, ayudaron demaciado cortando verduras, ordenar, sembrar algunas plantas, cercar con cañas y muchas tareas mas, siempre muy atentos, Belinda hace unas deliciosas tostadas y chocolate y Stephen hace una deliciosa pasta. Florine & Louis did an amazing job looking after our little Cavoodle whilst we went on holiday for two weeks! They took the time to bond with her and made sure she was kept safe on our rural property. The house was so lovely and clean when we got home and even had some french crepes waiting for us. Highly recommend them both. Would happily welcome them back again, as would Carly!

My time here was nothing short of amazing. Jacqueline is a very special woman who will make you feel very at home from minute one with her warm and grounded presence. I spent 4 weeks in this little bubble of peace and quiet, taking care of the sweetest animals Keyloa, Venus and cuddling Ciel, the cat, while also tending to the garden and big outdoor space. The work mainly consisted in weeding, trimming, removing brambles, moving logs and cleaning up already cut grass, and also helping with getting the gîte ready when guests were about to check in for a few days. You will not need to use any heavy machinerie (unless you want to) as there is already someone coming to help with the bigger jobs. Working outside in this beautiful property was such a gift, I can only recommend spending some time there and soaking it all in! I came for a Workaway and left with so much more. Thank you Jacqueline for such a special time spent together, I already miss you all 🤍

Viviane's semi off-grid cabin is beautifully hidden in the Luxembourg forests yet easily accessible with public transport. In my time here we worked in the garden and did some woodworking projects in and around the house. I enjoyed the many walks with the dogs (and cats, they join too!), and Viviane took me to see many places nearby. After work there were amazing home-cooked meals and good talks. This is a really nice place to go back to nature and things that matter, simple living away from society with homegrown food and good company. If you like animals and hiking, and doing garden and renovation/construction work, then you'll love it here!

I visited the hostel for a week, and it was a very enriching experience. Emerson and his family are incredibly kind and sweet people; they treated me wonderfully. I not only helped out at the hostel but also in a small leathercraft workshop, where he told me five generations have been working with leather. I assisted him at the hostel and with creating content for social media related to leatherwork. I learned a lot about Emerson's trips and excursions to Imbabura and other places in Ecuador, as well as about leather. I would love to return.

I just stayed 10 days and it has been amazing!!! The family is sooo welcoming and you feel like part of their family. They include you in their routine. Also, they show you their culture and their surroundings. The work has been easy. I did some weed plants and cleaning, they were nice with the breaks and the work. I highly recommend this experience!! I will miss them and for sure will come back!🥰🥰

I had the pleasure of having Danii at my house for 15 days. She is a very intelligent, independent, working and respectful girl. She has various knowledge in the field of botany, he has arranged all my lavender plants and other work in the field. She speaks several languages, so he helped me produce documents in English and I couldn't have done it alone. Cook well and in an original way. She loves animals, especially horses. She's awake! Today is not so normal... I wish you all the fortunes in the world and I hope I can see you again one day, here you will always be well accepted, not as a workaway but as a friend

Max and Ella were a fantastic help to our team. With a positive and friendly vibe every morning, they would both diligently help with their breakfast shift tasks. With a great sense of humour they would always be lifting spirits in the hostel by making guests and colleagues laugh and have fun. I would most definitely recommend Max and Ella as they are very professional and have a very solid knowledge of professionalism in the workplace. They quickly picked up local knowledge as well as hostel information to be able to help guests. Thanks so much for all the help and the good times guys! Safe travels :)

Apologies for my late review post! I had such a special one month at Rocci’s cute hostel! Rocci is an incredibly kind person who always takes an excellent care of both hosts and workawayers. I got one room for myself and stayed comfortably during my stay. I usually worked in the morning and mainly helped her cleaning, repairing and decorating the rooms for the guests. The place is located about 20 minutes from the centro of Oaxaca. There is a bus stop just in front of the house, so it is pretty convenient to go to Centro (but the way back takes longer). If you walk 10-15 minutes, there is a local town where you can get pretty much everything you will need for your stay here (panadería, lavandería, comedor, etc). I could visit centro on the weekend and also major sightseeing places such as Monte Alban, Mitle, and Hierve de Agua. Rocci was so kind to invite us to dinner on Christmas and New Year with her son and daughter. She also took us to her church on Sundays where we could interact with local people. I really enjoyed talking and getting know the guets through cooking in the outdoor kitchen. I was so lucky to be a workawayer in her place and it was such a pleasure to meet Rocci and her sweet family members. I’ll never forget this experience and treasure this special memory for the rest of my life. ¡Muchas gracias por tu amabilidad, cuidado y cariño! This is a very artistic, quietly humorous, hardworking girl. A pleasant acquaintance I can highly recommend.

I originally planned to stay for two weeks, but ended up staying for a month! I’m so glad I did. From the very beginning, I felt incredibly welcomed. Each morning started around 8:30am, and the tasks varied daily — weeding, planting flowers and vegetables, cleaning up after the children (who are wonderfully chaotic in the best way), and even learning how to plant rice. The rice planting was definitely a highlight. I also learned how to make soap! After finishing the morning tasks, I usually had plenty of free time, and I enjoyed helping look after the children while their mum cooked. Her mochi bread is AMAZING. Is it fuwafuwa or mochimochi? It’s ✨fuwamochi✨ I’m so grateful for everything I learned, and I’ll forever be puzzled and fascinated by onomatopoeia in children’s books 😆 Satsuki is an incredibly sweet child. I don’t think I ever had a single issue with her. She became very attached to my Totoro phone charm, and every morning she would run up to me saying, “Totoro, Totoro, Totoro.” It was amazing to see how much her language developed even in the short time I was there. If you wear glasses, beware! She loves to steal them and run away 😆 Yamato is full of energy in the best way. He has lots of little rules, loves to complain a bit, but also loves juice, singing in the car, and having battles with his handmade paper creations. He kept everything lively and entertaining, and is a joy to be around when you have the energy to match him. I had wonderful conversations with both Naoko and Guchan, mainly about language but many other things too! Naoko is fabulous at English, and I thoroughly enjoyed watching language videos and discussing Akiya renovation/carpentry with Guchan. Overall, I had such an amazing time here. I was introduced to an amazing community here in Taketa, and I feel very grateful to have stayed with this family. 本当にありがとうございました！

'Twas a dynamic, enlightening & serendipitous workaway - especially for a city girl! I experienced so much... - learning what sheep, goats, piggies, chickens and ducks eat (LOOP!) - learning multiple languages and cultures, as there were fellow workaways with me - seeing the world with whimsy from playing with the kids - eating farm fresh eggs for breakfast everyday (never seen yolk so golden) - trying bacon from happy pigs while on a spontaneous trailer camping trip and more.. Thank you Lauren, Ciaran, Ellia & Calla :)

We really enjoyed having Finn and Caitie stay with us for two weeks. They were easygoing, friendly, and always willing to help where needed. We also enjoyed sharing meals and conversations with them, and they got along very well with our toddler. We wish them all the best for the rest of their travels and a great Summer in the Yukon!

I stayed at the center for two wonderful weeks. Everyone there is so compassionate and welcoming. I talked to many of them about how they came into Buddhism and ended up their center, they're all very open and listening to their stories was transformative for me. I got to to attend some of the meditations and tso offerongs which was an awesome privilege. The work ranged from mopping to chopping vegetables to weeding to cleaning rooms to making pizzas! All so much fun and in good company! The atmosphere is tranquil and there are smiling faces everywhere. it's a wonderful place to be.

I had a wonderful time at Liv's beautiful home. I highly recommend doing a workaway with her if you get the chance. It was above and beyond my expectations. I helped with some gardening, cleaning windows and sugar soaping some walls to help prepare for painting. I only stayed with Liv for 1 week, but would have loved to have stayed for longer. She cooked us delicious, nutritious meals for dinner, and she took me to the nearby National Park to show me around. I had been in need of some calming, grounded time, and I found exactly what I needed at Liv's place. I recently started learning to weave baskets, and it was a beautiful space to work on my weaving projects and get some advice from Liv. I was amazed by how many different types of birds frequented her garden. Having a bath with water heated by the wood stove was a highlight for me! I had one of the most relaxing baths of my life. Thanks so much Liv, I am very grateful for you hospitality <3

Meredith is an amazing young woman. Her desire to learn and help was out of this world. She is very respectful of house rules and always wanting to carry out tasks as best as possible. Her full of life attitude means she was willing to take on any task with a smile and can also hold a wonderful conversation on just about any topic. It was an absolute pleasure having Meredith stay and I have no hesitation in recommending her as a workawayer. Thank you Meredith 🌺
