My almost three weeks with Spiros, Nikoletta, Stergios and Zois were really beautiful. First, I was a bit confused because they did not explain so much. But if you bring some flexibility, patience and things to do in your free time (No WiFi), you will have a wonderful time on the farm. I arrived in a quiet busy period for them, but they still didn't pass in their stress to me. Rather, I could work whenever and as long as I wanted to, meaning you need to be somewhat proactive and ask for what there is to do, and manage your own working rhythm. They are inspiring, hard working, warm hearted people that made me feel welcome and appreciated. As I was there in a period without vegetables and fruits (almost everything the family eats is self produced), and am vegetarian, I bought some vegetables and fruits to add to the delicious bread, eggs, cheese and other meals provided by them. There are many animals on the farm, and Stergios and Zois are amazing company, too. Thank you for everything and hopefully, see you soon, beautiful family!

I had a wonderful time at the cottage. For a few hours per day I helped out in the garden. Emilie and her cat Doolin were fantastic hosts and great company. We shared lovely meals and interesting conversations together. All in all, I felt very welcome, safe and comfortable at the cottage.

We spent a month with Rachel, Chris, Elliot, and Oliver and their wonderful animals. Of their menagerie Ivory the chicken, Shadow the three-legged dog, Joey the cat, and Jaque the horse became close companions of ours. They made it very hard to say goodbye. Home for the month was a renovated pigeoneer — one of those charming old stone towers you see dotting the French countryside — and it was the perfect little base for everything that followed. The work was varied and satisfying: building a compost bin and a new muck heap, stable shelving, hauling gravel for the driveway, repointing the old farmhouse wall, pruning trees, and helping out with the horses and chickens. Nothing felt overwhelming — just good honest outdoor work with a sense of real contribution at the end of each day. The area is stunning. Historic villages and châteaux practically around every corner. Bring a car if you can — it opens everything up and makes exploration so easy on days off. Rachel is warm and genuinely great to work alongside. Her boys were so polite and helpful and Chris was a great conversationalist. If you’re looking to slow down, get your hands dirty, connect with animals, and soak up the French countryside without any of the noise — this is your place. This was my very first Workaway experience, and what was initially planned as a two-week stay turned into five weeks - which probably says a lot about how much I enjoyed being there. Phoebe and Patricio are wonderful hosts: welcoming, positive, energetic, and always active. They have two adorable young boys who bring plenty of life and laughter to the place. And then there's Donna, the sweetest dog ever - although I strongly suspect she's actually the one in charge of everything! This kite place is perfectly located right on the beachfront, making it an ideal place for surfers and kiters. The kite house has internet access, and hosts regularly organize social events, usually about once a week, were they treated staff, Workawayers and frinds to BBQs and paellas, which were great opportunities to connect with everyone. I was even offered free surf lessons, which was a lovely bonus, although surfing isn't really my thing... I stayed in the staff house, about a 10-minute walk from the Kite House. It has six private rooms (for staff) and one dorm room with five beds for Workawayers. The house includes shared bathrooms, a kitchen, living room with fireplace, washing machine, portable drying lines, and a large outdoor area with an outdoor kitchen and BBQ. There is no internet or air conditioning in the staff house, but portable fans are provided in every room. The beach is only a short walk away, and the area is generally quiet, becoming livelier during the summer season. The location is approximately 25 minutes by car from Denia. There is a bus service every two hours from morning until early evening, with more frequent service during the summer months. Within walking distance you'll find two small supermarkets, a tobacco shop, and a handful of restaurants that remain open year-round. My tasks were varied and interesting. I helped clean and organize the staff house, including bedrooms, bedding, kitchenware, and communal areas. I co-created house rules, helped shape and finish the outdoor kitchen counter using epoxy, fitted a hob, painted and sanded/varnished various projects, and assisted with several DIY projects both in the staff house and at their summer restaurant. The staff house is an ongoing project, so there were always opportunities to contribute and learn new skills. One of the biggest highlights was the people. I met some truly amazing, respectful individuals from different parts of the world, and everyone got along incredibly well. I made friendships that I believe will last a lifetime. Overall, this was a fantastic first Workaway experience. I learned a lot, contributed to meaningful projects, met wonderful people, and created memories I'll always be grateful for. Thank you to everyone at Kite project for making my first Workaway adventure such a positive one.

I had such a wonderful time with this family, and honestly, it was a truly special experience. They are without a doubt some of the kindest, happiest, and most genuine people I have ever met. Valeria is an amazing mother, Ezio is a wonderful person, and Elia… oh, he is simply the sweetest, gentlest little boy you could ever imagine 🥰 They made me feel at home from the very first day. Even though I only spent a short time with them, I already felt like part of the family, and I’m sure this is only the beginning of our friendship. The vegan food was always delicious, and every day was filled with warmth, kindness, and positive energy. Besides being truly wonderful people, Ezio and Valeria have created a beautiful home surrounded by nature and full of love. Their values, outlook on life, and way of living are inspiring and deserve great respect. I genuinely felt welcomed and cared for throughout my stay. They are open-minded, thoughtful, warm-hearted, and incredibly generous people. Thank you, guys, for our trip to the adventure park, for the lovely evening with your friends, and for all the beautiful moments we shared together. I’m leaving with wonderful memories and I truly hope to see you again very soon 💛

they were a Lovely couple.. A big help, not only in the garden, but also they showed off the skills using tools to extend the cabin/accommodation. They are always polite and friendly and keen to get on with things. both friendly and keen . If you want a real authentic experience of Bedouin life in Petra this is an amazing place to go! Every day we had a delicious breakfast at Ghassab’s sister’s house and then went into the silent hills of Petra either with the sheep or goats. Herding the sheep is more chill/easy (just a couple hours in the morning and afternoon to take them up the hill and back) and herding the goats is better for people who like hiking for the whole day and are confident on rocky/steep terrain. You also take a lot of breaks and sit in the silent beautiful environment while the goats eat. It can be hard to understand instructions sometimes but it’s fine, Norah is an incredible woman and you will have a real experience not a tourist one! I even saw Norah deliver a baby goat and I carried him home. I felt welcomed straight away by Ghassab and very comfortable as a solo woman - completely disagree with the previous person’s feedback here. The volunteer house is really nice and comfortable and it was brilliant sharing the experience with other volunteers. In the evening we returned for a delicious dinner. I would highly recommend this experience ⭐️

No tengo más que palabras bonitas hacia Saúl. He tenido el placer de tenerlo en casa varias semanas en dos períodos distintos (y espero que vengan más), y realmente ha sido una gran experiencia coincidir con él. Es una persona muy responsable a pesar de su juventud. Hizo sus tareas (y más) a la perfección, dejando el huerto bien preparado para siembra así como ha dejado el bosque como un jardín de lo bien cortado y mantenido que está. Ha hecho un gran trabajo físico exterior a parte de colaborar en el dia dia de la casa y cuidar a los distintos animales de una forma muy ejemplar. Hemos compartido muchos juegos de mesa (poker sobre todo, aunque muchos otros más, que por cierto, se le dan muy bien), charlas, risas, comidas y muchos otros momentos que hemos pasado en casa. Llego un voluntario y se quedo un amigo. Un autentico placer, y hasta luego, porque nos volvemos a ver seguro.

It is truly a magical place to reconnect with yourself and with nature deeply. You’ll be sleeping right in the heart of the jungle, surrounded by monkeys, incredible butterflies, exotic birds, and all that the jungle has to offer (yes, including spiders and snakes too 😉). The vegan food is very tasty, healthy, and perfectly balanced. Mari is an amazing host and makes you feel at home from the very first moment. She is kind, open, and always willing to accommodate your requests whenever possible, especially regarding work tasks, schedules, and accommodation. All the people are very kind, always smiling and ready to help you make you feel home. There is always plenty of work to do. I was in charge of helping Mari take care of her lovely six dogs, each with their own strong and unique personality. I also helped with painting, sewing, and general maintenance of the structures at the Lounge. I loved working every day in such close contact with nature. The place itself is a real paradise in the jungle: you can enjoy a sauna, a natural swimming pool, and beautiful peaceful spaces for rest, reflection, and personal time. Volunteers stay in a dedicated structure where they also cook their own meals and share responsibility for keeping everything clean and tidy (the kitchen is open directly to the jungle, which makes cleanliness even more important). The location is remote and deeply immersed in nature. There is no public transport, so going into town requires a taxi or coordination with Ivan, the driver. There are also limited options to explore Chapada dos Veadeiros independently without a private vehicle. However, one amazing hiking trail to a waterfall starts directly from this place — absolutely not to be missed! It was a unique and unforgettable experience for me and I fall in love with this place, hoping to be able to come back soon! Sienna was one of the most special Workawayers we have ever had. She has an incredible ability to turn her hand to anything and always does an excellent job. There is something truly special about her. Sienna is kind, calm and respectful of your space, thoughtful, creative and resourceful. She brings a wonderful energy wherever she goes and was a pleasure to have around. We are so grateful for the time she spent with us and wish her all the very best in her future travels and adventures.

We had such a great experience spending a wonderful month there in the northern wild of Norway. Britta and Marco were excellent hosts, everything went perfectly ! The island is pure gold, so much birds and animals, and the weather was really something with the eternal sun. The balance is perfect between work and freetime : we worked in the morning, had lunch alltogether and then could use the afternoon for whatever we liked. We usually had dinner together as well, each cooking on a different day. We spent a bit of time with other workawayers only at first, as Britta and Marco were on vacation. They were very kind to let us use their car to go to Tromsø or hiking, and to have trust us enough to let us come even as they weren’t there. It was great to also have time with them before we left as they are really gentle and welcoming people, always caring and interesting to talk to :) We couldn’t be happier about this workaway experience, and would recommand it without hesitation! Thanks for everything and hope we’ll meet again! :-) PS: sauna was great! And we already miss the waffles

Le cadre est sans aucun doute l’un des points les plus marquants du projet. Il s’agit d’une zone de montagne très belle, avec des sentiers et des espaces naturels qui permettent facilement de se déconnecter. Concernant le travail, il m’a semblé équilibrée et conforme à ce que j’attendais. La vie en communauté et l’organisation du quotidien ont été plus variables. À certains moments, la communication et les relations changeaient de manière notable, ce qui pouvait créer une certaine incertitude et une forme d’inconfort dans l’ambiance générale. Malgré cela, je reste reconnaissante pour ce que le projet m’a offert et pour ce que j’y ai vécu.

My experience with Cumie, Alex, and little Kai was simply wonderful. It was my first Workaway experience, my first solo trip, and my first long stay in another country, and I couldn't have imagined anything better. I stayed with them for five weeks, and if I had been able to, I definitely would have stayed longer. Cumie is an incredibly helpful, calm, generous, and supportive person who is always there when needed. Alex is equally kind, generous, and very funny! And Kai is the cherry on top. Kai is a child you need to get to know in order to live well with him, as he has his own needs that may seem challenging to manage at first. However, it doesn't take long to build a connection with him, and once you do, everything becomes much easier. He respects the boundaries that are set for him and he’s a sweet and generous child. He was patient with me and my not-so-perfect English, and it was incredibly sweet whenever he said, “Tell me the words you don't know in English or Spanish, and I'll teach them to you!”. I learned so much from him, and he will always hold a special place in my heart. They provide accommodation but not food, so that is an expense to take into account. Sometimes they offer you tappers of food but these are definitely not enough to survive, it’s just a plus. They were also very kind to invite me on a boat trip for a day! I stayed in another house they own (not the one where they live), where other people live. There I met people who became friends in a very short time, and with whom I shared so many great experiences. The atmosphere in that house is truly magical. The room is not the best but it has all the basic essentials. I sincerely thank this family for making my experience unforgettable, and I hope to be able to return and visit them again someday. ❤️

Staying at this lodge was increíble!! I've stayed here for 2 months, and enjoyed every single day! Heyner is amazing! So kind, patient and always optmistic, and ofcourse an amazing karaoke singer;) Jenny is an amazing cook and soo kind. You really felt like my second parents for those months! I'm so happy I've met you and that I was able to really experience the local Costa Rica life! I've loved every second. Hasta luego!

This was absolutely the most unique experience I ever had - the project was so much more than contributing to help building the school and washing facilities! From the friendly volunteers&staff members, the incredible lovely people & resilient community, the integration in the Philippino culture and discovering the island - all of it made my experience and journey there even more unique! Feel blessed, and even though the work is intense, it is absolutely rewarding!! Returned home with recharged energy and a full hart! Keep up the amazing work everyone with AH&H is doing!!

Lena stayed with us for almost 2 months from April until the end of May 2026. She quickly became a part of our family. She has a wonderful personality and will always be remembered fondly by all of our family. She enjoyed chatting with the girls and playing board games , particularly chess. They loved having Lena around. She also helped my older boy with his German before his summer exams. She was so good to our dog Cookie. She loved to take him out for walks and he followed her around the house. He really enjoyed having her around too. She is very socialable and met up with some German and Spanish girls living in the area and enjoyed heading off exploring different places at the weekend. She made the most of her short time in Ireland and was also a great help to us in a very busy house. Thank you Lena and you are always very welcome to come back and visit us if you are in Ireland again.

Such a delight, courteous, thoughtful, gentle caring nature, works really hard. A total pleasure meeting Q and getting to know him. Hope to be friends for a very long time.

I stayed at Sally and Pieters for just under a month in May. From the moment I arrived, they welcomed me with open arms. I helped them harvest pomegranates, pecan nuts, and corn, clear invasive reeds, and do other small tasks like helping them with computer admin, filling holes to plant trees in and fixing netting and removing stones from their orchids. It was sometimes quite physically demanding however, they were always very considerate about switching the work up to easier jobs and Sally would often be working alongside me, so they knew exactly how I was feeling. We would have lovely conversations at teatime. They provided all meals during the working week which were always delicious. Sally taught me how to make pasta, and they invited me to go to the market with them every Saturday. I spent my free time going into the small village town only a few KMs away, going for several beautiful hikes in the area and reading. They are very knowledgeable, thoughtful and kind individuals and I would definitely recommend them to anyone who is not afraid of a little bit of hard work and enjoys being out in nature, you will definitely enjoy your time with them. Wishing them all the best for everything that is to come.
