I spent about 3 weeks on the farm in May. I truly loved my experience; the animals are so well cared for and the work is pretty consistent, a shift in the morning and evening, so it’s easy to get into a nice routine. The beach is a short 15-20 min walking distance and it’s easy to travel around the island hitchhiking. With that being said, what made this experience so special was Amanda. Her passion and love for the ponies is contagious; she truly cares about this project and it is so evident. We went to lunch a few times throughout my time with the other volunteers and every conversation with her is so meaningful. I enjoyed all our conversations, as Amanda has endless wisdom and stories as well as being very interested in learning about the volunteers. I would definitely recommend this workaway to say the least!

It was a nice experience, I received a lot of trust from Maca and Bernardo since I took care of the Finca for a couple of days while they were out. A very peaceful couple of days that helped me to organise my mind. Thanks

Agnès and her kids Alexi and Emma stayed with us for a few weeks. We enjoyed having them here a lot. Agnès is super nice, a hard worker and handy as well. Our children loved playing with her kids and had a very good time with them. After the first 1,5 week we were happy the we could offer them to stay for another week.

What can I say about Tuba? It was an absolute pleasure to host her for more than a month. She is kind, polite, communicative, and an incredibly hard worker. From the very beginning, she became part of our daily life so naturally that it felt like we already knew her for years. Tuba is a very proactive person who always did more than what we asked for. Our little farm honestly never looked better before she came to help us, and all of our animals absolutely loved her. We were really sad to see her leave, and we would host her again anytime without hesitation. She also spent time with our friends, and communication was always so easy and natural, more like having a friend around than a volunteer. Thank you so much for all the hard work, care, and passion you put into every task. We are truly grateful for everything you did here and for all the positive energy you brought to our home. We hope our paths cross again in the future :)

I’ve just left Markus and Katya’s place, and oh God, it was such a lovely experience! My main reason for doing Workaway was to improve my French speaking and listening skills and even though my French sucked, they were really patient with me. When I didn’t understand, they always repeated things slowly or tried to explain them using different words and they didn’t switch to English unless I did. When I first arrived, another Workawayer Leny told me: “You are so lucky to do your first Workaway here.” I completely understand what he meant now. The place is located between the mountains and the sea and it’s such a beautiful area. I really loved the beach and swimming there. I also really enjoyed spending time with Simba and Choco🐶🐱. I did something different every day, from removing weeds to cutting a tree, and I learned a lot of things. The balance between work time and free time was perfect. I worked more during four days so I could have three days off that week and since Barcelona is only about two hours away by train, I decided to go there. When Markus heard that I didn’t have a place to stay, he called a friend in Barcelona to arrange a place for me, which was very kind of him. Lastly, Leny made a fire some evenings and we drank beer around it which was really cool as well! I really recommend this place to anyone who wants to improve their French, or simply chill by the beach.

Sarah has been an amazing volunteer and a wonderful presence in our community. During her time with us, she showed kindness, patience, and genuine care for the children. She quickly built strong connections with the students, making them feel comfortable, happy, and motivated to learn. Sarah's positive attitude and willingness to help in every situation made a significant impact on our school. She adapted very well to life in our rural community, interacted respectfully with local families, and always participated enthusiastically in daily activities. The children especially loved spending time with Sarah. Her creativity, warmth, and cheerful personality brought joy to the classroom and created many memorable moments. She was not only a volunteer but also a role model who inspired the children through her actions and compassion. We are truly grateful for the time, energy, and dedication Sarah shared with us. Her contribution will be remembered for a long time, and both the children and the community will miss her greatly. We warmly welcome Sarah to visit us again in the future. She will always have friends and a family here in our village.

It was a such pleasure to have Cathy with us. The proof, she came several times at home. Cathy has a very good feeling with children. They have loved her ! Cathy has excellent interpersonal skills. She was a real source of support for our family. I can only highly recommend her.

This was my first Workaway experience on a farm, so I was very excited. Unfortunately, I was sick when I arrived, but Jennie and Norman made me feel welcome from the start. They showed me everything and helped me settle into my work.My main tasks included feeding the animals in the morning and preparing everything for that. I also helped with various other jobs, such as sweeping and cleaning up after the horses. I was able to go horse riding, and we even went on trail rides at the weekends. The location is beautiful, and I had the chance to explore the surrounding area by car. Jennie gave me helpful tips on places to visit. Jennie and Norman are kind, friendly, and helpful people, and it was a pleasure to help on their farm. Thank you very much for the wonderful time!

We stayed with Dallas for a week and had the chance to relax and do many walks around the Southern Highlands. Dallas is a lovely and caring host and we enjoyed the many drives she took us on during our stay. The work consisted in small house jobs like vacuuming, hanging out laundry, or cleaning her van and we had plenty of time to relax, do puzzles and explore the area. I would recommend her to anyone looking to relax and enjoy some warm company :))

We couldn’t have asked for a better first Workaway! We were lucky enough to overlap with the owners, Ben and Emma. They gave us great local tips and stories, and were always quick to respond to our messages. The area is SO beautiful and perfect for outdoor lovers- we did some amazing hikes and loved exploring. The work (simple maintenance and helping with tours) was straightforward, if anything, we would have happily done more! Managers Javi and Ale are fantastic, hard-working, and incredibly warm and easygoing. And we miss Ale’s laugh!! They are welcome to stay with us anytime in England or Belgium. We loved the opportunity to join the tours, met some wonderful guests, and highly recommend this experience. Wishing them a great summer season ❤️

Bei Sybille und Werner zu sein ist immer eine Freude und fast wie ein zweites Zuhause für mich. Sybille als absolute Powerfrau mit vielen creativen Ideen, Verschönerungen und Reparaturen beschäftigt. Werner mit seinem Humor und geduldigen Art ist der Ruhepol als Ausgleich in dem wunderschön gelegenen Haus. Neben der Versorgung der Katzen gibt es immer etwas zu werkeln, streichen, Unkraut zu zupfen und Haushalt zu verrichten. Bei all dem ist aber das Urlaubsfeeling an erster Stelle. Ich freue mich auf ein nächstes Mal.

I stayed with Mercé and her children in June 2025 and it was honestly an experience I will never forget. Abril and Nil are bright and happy children always looking to have fun whether it’s swimming, playing video games or playing football which they are obsessed with. They argue as any siblings do, however with patience and understanding you can calm them down no problem. Abril’s English is very good however, Nil does struggle with it sometimes. It is important to be patient with him to allow him to get his point across and giving him encouragement helps his confidence massively. They are cheeky and mischievous so be ready for anything but I guarantee you will have the most fun and enjoyable experience with stories you will remember for a lifetime. Mercé is honestly the most lovely and kindhearted person. She brings you in with open arms and treats you like a member of the family from the outset. She looks out for you and put so much effort into showing me the Catalan and Spanish culture. We had some lovely chats while I was there and I consider her a friend for life. You will not regret staying with this family. You will meet some amazing people while you are there and make the best memories along with it. Thanks again for everything Mercé

I spent three wonderful weeks with Bobby and Charlotte, and I couldn’t have asked for a better first Workaway experience! From the very first day, they welcomed me with open arms and made me feel super comfortable. They are incredibly kind and easy-going people, and it was a pleasure getting to know them and their funny cat! The house they renovated is beautiful, and I had my own lovely private room! The work was enjoyable and never difficult. Most of the tasks were in the garden, and Charlotte had a list of things from which I could choose what I wanted to work on each day. Charlotte also cooked incredibly delicious meals every day – I was always looking forward to lunch! I was allowed to use their scooter, which gave me the opportunity to explore the area and visit the nearby beaches! Orebić is a beautiful place, and the local people are warm, welcoming, and open-minded. I truly enjoyed spending time there. Thank you, Bobby and Charlotte, for having me, and I wish you all the best! I highly recommend staying with them to any future Workawayers!

I had the pleasure to visit the farm from early April to June and had a wonderful stay there :) Emma and Robbie welcome all travelers with openness and warmth, and I felt like at home after the first few days already. Wether you like animals, gardening, woodwork or cooking, the farm offers opportunities to learn and do everything. It’s a place to learn and try things for the first time, wether it is using a chainsaw or picking up a chicken. My favorite things I experienced are learning the basics of playing the guitar from Robbie and learning to plant seedlings from Emma. I already miss the feeling of coming into the main shed and settling down at the fireplace with some home-baked bread in one hand and cuddling the house cat Flambé with the other. Thank you for the lovely stay, and I hope to see all of you, Emma, Robbie, Flambé, Mable and Reg again :)

Esme was a fantastic addition to our community. She was trustworthy, hard working, and fun. She got along very well with the other workawayers, and took great care of the property. She was helpful, excited to learn, and adaptable to whatever the situation demanded. Just a very impressive person overall. I would absolutely host her again and hope she comes back some day.

Je suis resté quasiment 1 mois chez Manu et l’expérience a été vraiment géniale. Je travaillais le français avec Manu qui est déjà très forte, on a pu continué d’étudier à travers des œuvres littéraires, c’était très diversifié et toujours intéressant. La maison est belle, très propre, Diana la chienne adorable. Au-delà des cours, Manu et Nick sont adorables toujours à aborder des discussions passionnantes dans lesquelles on se perd des heures. La région est magnifique, beaucoup de choses à faire, je recommande forcément l’expérience !

It was great to have Max staying with us during a time when we had a lot to do. He was very helpful with a variety of tasks, he was open to learning new things & expanding his skills. We enjoyed working with him. We had good conversations, enjoyed his piano playing and had great time together.

I have never stayed at a place wanting to extend my time there, but with Manfred's shelter, i felt like I wanted to stay longer and longer till all the baby joeys graduate from the pouches 🥺❤️ The accommodation and food provided was amazing, i enjoyed cooking for everyone for lunch.... and dinner😂 The workload was distributed really nicely amongst all the volunteers, it is tough work, but it never gets boring. On my days off i loved visiting the city which Manfred was oh so kind enough to take me to and back from the train station! My 3 weeks stay there has been absolutely amazing and I've never felt happier... I will be back!!! Till then, sending my love to all the Roos 🦘 (especially my donkey boy webby 🩷🩷)
