Ciao!
We are a family of five - Giuseppe (Peppe), Silvia and our three children, living in the Tuscan hills near Pistoia. We moved to this property in 2019, after living in an eco/shared-living community for many years. We wanted to take what we learned there and start cultivating a life for our family where we can live primarily off the land.
We are passionate about using resources in a sustainable way and treating the land like we treat each other. We like to host people who have similar passions for sustainability, living as a collective and who enjoy contributing to organic farming and permaculture.
On the property, we have our historic 200 year old stone house (the family home) where you will join us for meals, as well as two large yurts, our large vegetable gardens, fruit trees, an olive grove, our bee hives where Giuseppe harvests honey and sells it at local markets - not to mention endless beautiful forest landscape and a beautiful view of Pistoia!
This is a place that fosters connection between humans, nature and animals. We welcome people who believe that with strong and authentic intention, everything is possible. We welcome people to play music, share experiences and swap life stories among the trees.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Us parents speak English, and we are happy to help you if you want to learn/improve your Italian!
We cook traditional Italian food, like pasta and soups, and can cater to vegetarian, vegan and coeliac diets - just let us know. You are welcome to help prepare meals, though it is not expected. We are also open to recipes and learning new cuisines too of course.
Most of the opportunities to learn here are related to the garden. Giuseppe can show you the honey harvesting process, how to tend to vegetable plants, fruit trees and olive harvesting. Any questions about permaculture, agriculture, organic gardening or essential oil distillation are all welcome!
We have three young children between 3 and 13 and we will treat you like you are part of the family. The children speak only Italian, so it helps if you know the basics (not vital though).
We appreciate help with looking after our youngest (playing with toys and outside with him). He loves to spend time with the people we host!Proyectos con niños

Ayuda
This project of cultivating a life from our own land is a dream for us, and with the help of workawayers, we are making this a reality! There is no financial gain here for us, and nor should there be for you. We do not want people who just want a cheap holiday. Here, it is about the simple things and about fostering connections between open-minded people and working together as a collective.
The tasks can include a variety of things and changes according to seasons and might be tending to any of the below:
- Horticulture: Harvesting vegetables, herbs, fruit and olives
- Collecting, cutting and storing sticks/wood from the forest
- Clearing the land of tall grass by hand or using garden machinery
- Sewing up holes in olive nets
- Masonry and carpentry
- Playing with our youngest son
- Helping in the home with domestic tasks
- Taking photographs/videos of the land and activities - showing what we do here. We are also open to any creative ideas you have!
The landscape is on a hillside so it can be tiring at times. You can also let us know if there are specific areas you would like to contribute to.Idiomas hablados

The accomodation is in a large yurt. We can host a maximum of 3 people at one time. We welcome all - couples, friend duos or solo travellers. Please note that you may be sharing the yurt with 1-2 other people depending on who we have at the time. The yurt has a small fireplace which can be used during cold winter nights.
Sometimes it will be just you, sometimes there will be 2 other volunteers. Please note that if you don’t like the idea of spending time alone in a rural place, this might not be the place for you.Algo más...
Please note that we are very remote, and you must be comfortable sleeping in a yurt (large tent).
Our place is at the beginning of the forest and is a 300 metre walk from a little village. We are 5km from Pistoia city centre, 25km from Florence, 30km from Lucca and 50km from Pisa.
You can bus from our nearest train station, to an area 2km from our village. This is where we can pick you up by car and bring you to the property. You are also welcome to make the trek by walking or on a bike if you are an adventurer.Un poco más de información
