🌿✨ Are you a nature lover who enjoys camping, sightseeing, and swimming? We have an amazing opportunity for you! 🌟🏕️
Located just 40 minutes from Darwin and within walking distance to Berry Springs, Territory Wildlife Park, IGA, doctor, pharmacy, and a popular country tavern, our little “sanctuary” is surrounded by incredible tourism attractions. Whether you want to swim in our big pool or the nearby Berry Springs, there’s something for everyone!
What We Offer:
Nature and Camping: Camp under the stars near our pool or stay in our outback-style accommodations if available. We offer camping gear for the people who just want to try it out. Sorry if you are expecting a city flat, you are completely wrong. Learn survival skills and to respect alternative lifestyles!
By the way we do have hot water and a flushing toilet- it’s just outback style!
Food: if you are helping 5 hours a day we can offer free food and you are welcome to join us on our weekly shopping trip or we order it online for you.
We have a outdoor kitchen which is set up with solar panels and gives you the opportunity to use it as long the sun is shining. There is a BbQ and campfire too.
Enjoy the beautiful surroundings and the peaceful environment.
Tourist Attractions: Explore local attractions like Berry Springs and Territory Wildlife Park.
Convenient Location: Close to essential amenities and a charming country tavern.
Pick-Up Service: We can pick you up from your Coolalinga shops when we go shopping once a week.
Outback feeling: We are trying to be self sufficient and encourage people to enhance the bush experience with authentic ideas!
Everything is outdoors, please don’t come if you can’t cope with this lifestyle :-)
Interesting projects: learn new skills.
Flexible hours: We finish projects the same day and work less the next.
A routine: If you can stay for a month, you can help us with our animals.
Volunteer and Stay:
Short-Term Stays: Campers can stay for just one night without any work commitment if you make a food donation from our local produce store to support our rescue donkeys, roosters, chicken, ducks, geese and parrots.
Animal Care: Help care for our playful and cuddly donkeys, rescued roosters, ducks, and geese. We are also creating a natural conservation area for Burdekin ducks.
How to Get Involved:
Volunteering: We have various options available for those with skills in animal husbandry, weeding, mowing, fencing, painting, and gardening.
Contributions: Any support, whether it's volunteering, plant donations or food donations, is greatly appreciated.
Be aware that we often need to finish a project within some hours and need people who are open minded and would help more on some days and less other days :-)
Only adventurous outdoor people who have no phobia of small critters should apply.
Don’t forget to bring some appropriate clothing snd a headlamp to be able to enjoy our nightly campfires and animal spotting with your host who has a passion for reptiles and birds.
This is a fantastic opportunity to enjoy the great outdoors, contribute to our new Burdekin duck project, and experience the unique beauty of the Northern Territory. If you’re interested, send us a message with your details, experience, and the length of your intended stay. We look forward to welcoming you to our place! 🌿🦆 #NatureLovers #Camping #AnimalSanctuary #VolunteerOpportunity #NTWildlife 🐾✨
