Hi Volunteers!
We are a couple who run a small organic farm with milking goats on the slopes of Mecsek mountains ca. 10 minitutes walk from the citycenter of Pecs.
I am a sculptor and the farm is also my workplace.
We have around 25 goats. Most of our time it s dedicated to the goats and their enviroment: from taking care of them, feed them to the last step of cheesemaking .
We started our farm in 2012 and we are following the concept of permaculture in our garden, where we grow vegetables and herbs.
If you are interested and maybe you already have some experience in goat farming, gardening or cheesemaking, you are welcome in our farm.

Our travellers have a chance to get familiar with a Hungarian culture and regional traditions of arts and cuisine.
They could learn all about the goats from the breeding and caring to milking and cheesemaking, which includes yogurt, kefir or other diary products. They can get familiar with organic gardening and some art work with stone as well.

Main daily project:
We are looking for volunteers who will help with the gardening, housekeeping and preparing meals together with the host. In reward we offer free accomodation and food three times a day.
Also if the volunteers are willing to learn they get lessons and proper informations/practice of making the dairy products. The products made by our volunteers is for thier and our own consumption. They will get some goods of our homemade products as well. Gardening is usually seeding, planting, mulching and harvesting. We do not use any chemicals and pesticides or artificial fertilizers. Sometimes you can take part of the sculpture work and monument restoration.

The city of Pécs is a capital city of Baranya County. We were a European Capital of Culture in 2010. Also we have around 3000 foreign studebts in the University of Pécs. Our city is full of historical places and we host different cultural festivals annually. The city center is 10-15 minutes by walk. The tracking routes of the Mecsek mountain are minutes away from the farm. Beautiful lakes and thermal baths in 20 km distance. Local transport is available by city buses.
