We (Swiss/Dutch couple with 3 small children) bought a beautiful and remote piece of land on the island of Vis 9 years ago, with the intention to build a home for our family. Our property is 1.5ha in size and located on the steep northwest side of the island. This side of the island has been abandoned more than 70 years ago and all that is left are a few ruins. All the terraces were once used to grow grapes but are now completely grown over by dense bush and pine forests. Obviously this means a lot of work clearing the land but also offers endless possibilities for creative solutions!
In 2023 we are planning to..
- improve soil quality of our garden
- build a ferrocement water tank
- working on a hiking trail
- plant more trees
- clear more land to establish a vineyard and food forest
- build a tiny houseTipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Vis is one of the most remote islands in Croatia and also regarded as one of the most beautyful in the Mediterranean. There are endless possibilities for swimming, kayaking, hiking and exploring the island.
However our location is remote and it takes a 40min walk (20min by car) to the next village and a 40min hike to the next beach. For campervans keep in mind that our access road is a 6km gravel road!Un poco más de información
