I am a teacher who resides much of the summer at my summer home on a lake; what we call a cottage in Canada. I live with my girlfriend and we have a wonderful 5 year old daughter and a baby boy.
The Upper Laurentians are stunning. We are two hours north of Montreal, and there is a lot to do in the area. Hiking, fishing, canoeing, swimming, berry picking, and camping are just some of the activities to do. We are looking for a single person or a couple to enjoy outdoor time with us as we enjoy the seasons.
Every spring after the snow melts, it is very exciting. The trout season starts, the wild flowers start to appear and the air is crisp and fresh. The summers are hot, and we generally swim three times a day. The lake is spring fed and very clean. The fall is refreshing, with vivid colours in the forest in September and October. The weather is cooler and the sky is a bright blue. A perfect time for those who don`t like heat, but love the outdoors.

Travellers will learn about life in the Upper Laurentians of Quebec. The wildlife, the food and the traditions will be shared. The cuisine with maple syrup and wild game, the fishing and canoeing and the general feeling will be imparted to our guests. In Montreal, travellers will be exposed to the wonderful markets of Montreal, the cafe culture, the music scene, the museums and the diversity that Montreal has to offer.

I am looking for an individual or couple to enjoy my lakefront property while helping with certain projects around the house including activities with our children.
It is crucial to remember that we do not follow a regular 5 day a week schedule. Work assignments will depend on weather and in the spring, getting projects done before the outbreak of black flies and mosquitoes in late May and early June. Some days might require 7 hours, others none.
The spring is crucial: planting the vege patch, small repairs and painting and other such projects.
For the autumn, I need people to help us with small construction and renovation projects and other fall tasks like raking leaves.

We are in the Upper Laurentians. It is a wild area with thousands of lakes and rivers to discover. There are bears, wolves, mink, blue heron and a multitude of fish in the area.
Volunteers will be welcome to enjoy the area, eat around the campfire(or in the kitchen :-)) in exchange for 4 hours of work per day. We are looking for short term commitments. A week or two would be ideal. Meals are included, but not alcohol.

Sean and Maria are a great couple, I enjoyed a lot my stay with them.
