  We live at the edge of a beautiful forest in Normandy, home to many wild animals that we can often see from our house. It's an ideal getaway for walks, biking, horse riding, and we also both ride motorbikes. Joachim is French and has grown up in this region since he was a kid. I, Claire, am French and British and have traveled to many countries in the world. I now appreciate the piece and quiet in this beautiful area. We have two very old stables typical from Normandy that we are entirely renovating to become homes. We have many skills that we would very much enjoy to share as to learn more from your own skills and experiences in builders renovation.

  The place where we live is quite exceptional, thanks to the surroundings but also the people. Normandy is a wonderful region in France that many people like to travel to. I love exchanging in different cultures and would love to share with you our way of living. We both speak French and English (I'm fluent in English). We love music and have quite a few music instruments at home :) We both enjoy sharing experiences, having a good BBQ with beer and good music! I'm trying to do my first vegetable garden too! Joachim has a 10-year old son on alternating custody. We have an adorable cat :) The area is very quiet, you will enjoy listening to the birds singing but not much more noise!

  Ayuda

  Our project is to renovate two stables into houses and homes. One of the two is 2/3 done and is the other one is ongoing. The houses would be approx. 400 to 800 years old (unclear!), so we are also concentrating on securing the foundations. Our project this summer is to finish the last 3rd and give back to this beautiful building a true meaning and beauty in the surroundings. Your contribution would involve manual construction, such as concrete, building, isolation, etc. and anything else we manage to do! We would like to share our skills and learn also from others that have similar or different skills to ours. We would be doing everything together and exchanging as much as possible.

  We are currently working on renovating a room for guests If you have a van, it's also possible to park in our garden. Camping is alos an option if you prefer :) We provide tents, mattresses, beddings if necessary.
  We offer 3 meals per day, shared with us, in exchange for 5 hours help per day, 5 days a week.

  You need to have a car to come here, or a van, or a bike... it's in the middle of nowhere :) We can also arrange transport occasionally if you do not have transportation, the closest train station is only 10 minutes away and goes to Paris in only 2 hours.
  There are many places to visit during your free time, we even have a countryside zoo very close to the house! If you have a mountain bike, make the most of it, the forest is amazing for mountain biking. We also have bikes at home. And a quad-bike when it wants to function...!
  We would really like to welcome you in our home, to share our lives and yours, to make you discover this beautiful region and little piece of paradise. We also are eager for help with our houses, as we have lately been spending most of our weekends and holidays working on the houses.
  As myself a traveler of the world, I think Workaway is a very interesting way to exchange and meet people.

  We have a good internet connection however we don't have the usual current network so phone calls and messages all good through Wifi.
