NOTE: We are a small social hostel (18 beds) ideal for solo travelers. WE ARE NOT A PARTY HOSTEL OR HEAVY DRINKING PLACE, so we are not looking for entertainers or pub crawl leaders. People who see volunteering just as free accommodation to stay and do nothing are not welcome. If you have true intentions to discover one country and its culture, you have found the perfect place for you.
Our hostel is located inside our four-generation family home, which was destroyed during the last war in the 1990s. Our family has worked really hard to renovate the house that has a special place in our hearts.

Mostar is a beautiful town located in the Hercegovina region. We are blessed with an amazing climate with over 200 sunny days a year, which means most days you can plan something nice. Around the city, there are 5–6 rivers that can be easily reached, and there are at least 4–5 nice hikes. Our capital, Sarajevo, is two and a half hours away, and you can take one of the most beautiful train rides there and back for less than 10 euros. This box is a little too short for all my ideas and recommendations, so come and you won't leave disappointed.

This was my first workaway experience and it was certainly one I’ll never forget! The work at the hostel is simple, very much like just taking care of chores in your own home. Between me and the other volunteer, it was very easy to divide up the shifts. We would just need to inform Taso on when we would like our free day… read more
But the communication was difficult with the team. I bit cold and distant for me so I didn't felt welcome… read more

Many of the guests who stayed had been recommended and specifically came to Mostar to stay there, which I think says it all - such a special place, super warm and homey, the work is simple and easy, Taso was very happy to explain how things are and leave it… read more

Abby is one happy and workaholic person. We was great fit for our hostel and nothing was hard for her to do.
She was great around with guests, events, cleaning and reception work.

So.. This being my first 'Workaway' I was a little nervous about what to expect... But on arrival I was welcomed and made to feel at home right away. I stayed for 1 month and would have loved to stay even longer if not for my other plans.

Tanya was helping us for just over 3 weeks and she was amazing. I really don't have words to describe how responsible she was regarding all the tasks. We were really sad to let her go.
The help is not hard, just keeping the place clean and helping the guests.
Mostar is a beautiful city, with so many things to do.
I highly recommend Taso and Mostar to everybody!
Don't hesitate to employ her.
She is very sweet and social person.
