Welcome to Finca Isekai, a realm that borrows its name from the Japanese term meaning 'a different world'. Indeed, our corner of paradise is a world apart. Our remote island homestead is beautifully severed from the usual roadways and power grids, making it a rare retreat away from civilization.

Our dream is to build a remote, off-grid utopia where we can sustain ourselves from the land, create a fruit forest, and offer a haven for those seeking to restore their bond with nature. As we slowly transform our property from its current basic form, we're eager to welcome passionate individuals like you who can contribute to our vision.

Our island family includes Julia, Peter, their daughter Zoe, three dogs, and an array of indigenous birds and iguanas. We thrive on a high fruit diet, supplemented occasionally with cooked vegan meals.

Food is an essential part of our lifestyle, and we celebrate the diversity in everyone's dietary preferences. You're welcome to enjoy the fruits of our farm. Beyond this, you'll be responsible for your own food. We can assist you in procuring supplies from the mainland. We believe this approach empowers you to make your own food choices and relish your meals exactly how you like them.

Getting here is part of the adventure. As you might expect, residing in such a remote location comes with its share of challenges and rewards. Given that there are no public transportation options to reach Cebaco Island, you'll need to either summon your inner athlete to swim or kayak, or charter a private boat. The boat fare to get here is $180, a price that might seem steep at first glance. However, let's peel back the layers and dive into what this cost actually covers.

$80 is for gasoline only. Then captain and helper are on the boat, as you dont want to boating alone, when something happens you need backup! In addition when captain takes this job he very likely is not able to squeeze another boat trip, thus it is full day thing, as he spending 5 hours of anchoring, loading, unloading, boating. This you can count 2 person full day for $100, which is $10 per hour if you count 5 hours of work. However, I forgot to mention cost of the engine is about $10k and need to be changed, or heavy repairs, every 3-5years, from afromentioned “salary”. As well as taking care of the boat itself.

When viewed through this lens, it becomes clear that the boat fare is more than just a simple price tag. It's a crucial investment into the safe and efficient operation of our remote, off-grid paradise. We trust that you'll find this price a fair exchange for the unique experience and serene tranquility that awaits you on Cebaco Island.

We're evolving our way of running Finca. We've seen incredible progress thanks to the efforts of our past volunteers. We will require around 2 hours of help from you each day in maintaining and improving our haven. These tasks may include pruning trees, clearing space for new plantings, sprouting seeds, harvesting fruits, etc., and will depend on the season and current needs.

However, your main focus would be on a unique project, something that aligns with your skills and interests. We're open to any creative ideas that align with our vision for the island. This could be anything from building a shelf, like Emma did, or constructing canopies to protect our young trees, like Ethan did. We love seeing how each volunteer leaves their unique imprint on our haven.

These projects also come with a bonus. As you make progress, you'll earn points that can be redeemed for activities like yoga classes, health consultations, or water sports. It's our way of saying thank you for your invaluable contribution.

In regards to waste management, we have a simple rule - every trash you bring with you, you need to take with you and dispose of on the mainland.
We will provide trash bags if necessary, but it's essential to carry them with you and dispose of them on the mainland. Our infrequent trips to the mainland make it challenging for us to manage non-organic waste, hence your cooperation in this matter is greatly appreciated.

Our journey here at Finca isn't an easy one, but it's a fulfilling adventure, made all the better when we come together. Thanks to our previous volunteers, we've made remarkable strides, and we believe that together, we can continue transforming this island into our shared dream. We can't wait to welcome you to our different world!

As well as sun screens. Try to explore natural oils as protection, although with right lifestyle you dont need to use sun screens and you will have no sunburn 👍, free consultation upon request.

    notable mentions :
    - toilet is squat to the compostable toilet ( hole in the ground with the bucket, no flushing, when full just adding full bucket to compost so later we will use it as nutrition for plants. If you are on medications let us know ahead )
    - shower is sea or lagoon or up walking up stream there are nice places to bath
    - 3 doggies on the island ( plant based fed by us, but when fishermen come around they eat leftovers fish after them or random island bycatch )
    - transport to our property from mainland, by boat, gasoline alone is about $80, possible to share cost if aligned schedule with other workawayer arrival / departure. contact us for more details and we can plan it together to be cost and eco efficient!
    - cooking on solar cooker thus depended on the sun, during the cloudy days cooking might not be possible. Other option is campfire! :)
    - electricity, for now solar
    - internet access not stable, limit 7gb per day in total
    - we are on high fruit diet, fully PB including dogiezzz
    - it is jungle more or less, thus encounters with wild animals is possible ( iguanas, spiders, cocroaches alike, scorpios - bicolored and devil, snakes, owls, canary, eagle, pelican, crabs, river shrimps, ants … ) though wide grass cutted road is most of the time present to avoid unexpected scenarios, but careful and mindful of where to step is needed nonetheless
    - no fridge
    - no shop on the island
    - no restaurant accessible at the island
    - no running water
    - no cellphone signal ( except the top hill, unstable, but with long ranger antena network signal is ok )

We have solar electricity so when there are two and more consecutive days of rain 🌧️ we would not have electricity, however currently we are working on hydro power but not functional at the time I wrote this. We can provide 200wats per day per nomad for now from solar power. Internet on the phone is usually stable so if you need to do online call it's preferable over the phone. Internet share on phone is unlimited ( but after 7gb per day it is sloow ) but on notebook is limited.

we have three doggies, they are cool with other doggies, not so much with cats nor other animals running away from them, thus brave souled animals even non doggies may be good - but it is on your own risk
