    Descripción

This is a cozy, home-themed coworking space in Sanur that welcomes both local and international creatives. If you’re seeking a supportive community to brainstorm, focus, or collaborate with, this could be the right place.

The space features traditional Indonesian architecture with multiple stories, several rentable bedrooms, coworking spaces, a peaceful garden, thriving pond, and shared kitchen/dining areas. High speed internet and parking are included.

In general, our tenants are enthusiastic about sustainability, networking, and tech literacy. We enjoy hosting educational game nights and value creating a space for sharing world perspectives, skill sets, and ideas. With that in mind, we aim to select tenants who will be respectful community members and enjoy sharing meals and stories.

We are located 10 minutes from calm beaches and are very close to great restaurants, coffee shops, and local markets. Additionally, please note that while we are on a peaceful street, our neighborhood karaoke bar is next door and creates a lively evening ambiance.

Animal lovers are encouraged to apply. We currently have two cats (Neti and Mio) and two kittens (Ang and Not-Ang) though we are working on getting the kittens adopted. The pond is home to a well-fed turtle (Jax) and fish.

    Volunteer Tasks:

An average of 14 hours of work per week is expected in exchange for free accommodation (private room in coliving guesthouse) and an opportunity to be involved in local initiatives. Meanwhile, we hope you enjoy the opportunity to explore the peaceful neighborhood of Sanur and enhance your skills in marketing, event management, and sustainability.

There are a variety of tasks, so please let us know which ones align with your interests. Not all tasks are expected of a single volunteer.

    House:
    Feeding the cats
    Playing with the cats
    Feeding the turtle and fish
    Getting the two kittens adopted
    Watering and maintaining the garden
    Group meal prep
    General cleaning
    Waste management
    Recycling
    Compost
    Cat litter
    Family support
Helping my elderly parents. No matter how little/tedious/silly the tasks are, any support is much appreciated! Their projects involve street dog care, housing for the poor, disaster relief, and humane city planning.
Learn traditional cooking and herbal medicine remedies alongside us
    Marketing/Business Management:
    Making flyers
    Distributing flyers
    Social media content creation
    Updating listings
    Operations
    Community projects:
    Event organization
    Language exchange
    Game development workshops
    Movie nights
    Creative & Digital Projects:
If you're a gamer, digital artist, or programmer, you can contribute to our social impact games focused on Bali's sustainability.

    Additional Notes:

Daily meals are not provided, but there are often opportunities to cook together and share meals.
The house has an open floor plan for fresh airflow, but there is no AC. All bedrooms have fans.
Due to the open design and being located in Bali, you will inevitably see critters in the house. Geckos help control the indoor bugs, but mosquitoes are still common. We recommend bringing bug spray.
A scooter may be available to rent for _ per day.
Volunteers get up to 15% discount on organic produce from our organic food supplier, Bali Jiwa.
We employ local housekeepers and a gardener who will come once a week
Our family has additional rooms available in other properties and are connected locally if anyone wants to transition from volunteering short term to more long term accommodation.
Feedback is welcomed and encouraged to enhance this experience for everyone.

    Who we’re looking for:

Volunteers who are passionate about sustainability and community building.
Preferably locals who understand the culture, though we welcome anyone with the right mindset.
Must be able to ride a motorbike.
    Marketing skills are always needed!
    Someone eager to help
We ask for 10 hours/week for "hard tasks" or 4 hours/week for "easy tasks"
Note, some tasks only take a few minutes a few times a day and are rounded up to an hour. In practice, the easy tasks are not gonna actually take 4 hours of continuous/laborious work. For example, playing with the cats is a task:)
Good communication. Do you like to work autonomously or with a group? Staying on the same page about priorities is always mutually beneficial.

    Our Mission & Community Involvement:

Our family and close community are actively involved in a wide range of social and environmental initiatives across Bali. We are passionate about addressing the island’s challenges, from tourism’s impact to creating new models of sustainable living, and showcasing Bali’s potential to an international audience. By helping us, I (the one coming up with this work exchange, among others) can have more time to do my independent work. I’m a programmer and game developer creating several social impact games, some multiplayer. My goal is to make these awesome and accessible to teach sustainability and social impact in a fun way.

We hope that in this exchange volunteers enjoy access to a network of dedicated individuals and organizations deeply involved in Bali’s sustainability and social impact initiatives. This is a unique chance to connect with the heart of the island’s environmental and cultural transformation.

Let us know if you think this might be the right fit for you.
