Konni is a diligent person that likes to get things right. She will ask if she is unsure. She was respectful of our space and took advantage of the natural environment.
She adored the animals and they appreciated her calm, quiet manner.
She assisted us greatly in taking good care of our 4 horses, 5 dogs and 3 cats.
We wish her well in all she

A friend of mine recommended this workaway place, and she didn't promise too much! I stayed for one month with Amanda and Andy, two very kindhearted people. They welcomed me into their home and made every effort to ensure I arrived and felt comfortable.
Before arriving at Amanda and Andy's place, I had been going through a stressful time. I was
… read more always busy with tasks lined up one after the other. Initially, it was challenging for me to adjust to their relaxed attitude. They took things at their own pace and approached each task with care. I learned to love this peaceful environment and was able to relax deeply. And sometimes I wish I could be there if another stressful time arises in my life.
Amanda and Andy include you in their lives if you want, which I appreciate. For example, Amanda took me to her friends, to the ocean, or to the next village.
A typical day looked like this:
Morning: Feeding the dogs, cats, and horses, collecting horse manure, completing small tasks like cleaning or harvesting fruits.
Lunchtime: Helping in the kitchen.
Evening: Feeding the animals, sometimes watering the plants, taking the dogs for a walk (it's perfect to do this after supper, as there are many wild fruits growing which can be your dessert. I loved it.)
They introduce you very well to each task, and if something is unclear, you don’t have to be afraid to ask again.
If you like, you are also allowed to go for a horse ride even by yourself. This shows how much they trust you.
I highly recommend this place to everyone who wants to learn more about horses and calm down in a good way. I really like to think about the time I spent in Spain. For instance, by playing my self-made bamboo flute, which I built with a neighbor there.

3 months with Amanda, Andy and their lovely animals was a unique experience. The farm is located in the middle of nature, surrounded by rivers and mountains.
Amanda is warm-hearted, conscious and understanding person with a big heart. Andy has broad knowledge about the area and history, among many other things and he has many stories interesting

And the animals…They are all so adorable and wonderful personalities, I really miss them all. I haven’t seen anywhere animals taken so good care and it was wonderful to see how happy the animals were. I enjoyed a lot my time with the dogs and cats, going for walks and cuddles. For horse lover it is a paradise and I learned a lot about natural horsemanship. Brie, who takes care the horses, is a great and patient teacher, as well as Amanda. I got to go horseback riding, learned long-lining and little bit hoof trimming and general care.
As an introvert, who loves peaceful environment, I struggled a bit with the co-living. There was a lot going on in the house due to upcoming moving, which is completely understandable. I had a chance to stay in a big, comfortable caravan little further from the house, but I choose to stay in the house, because I needed internet connection to do my studies. I spent few nights in the caravan and it was very cozy, so for those who need more privacy, there is option as well.
I wish all the best luck for moving and peaceful time in your new home in Galicia, I hope we see again one day!Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

This was a very precious workaway experience. Amanda and Andy are kindhearted, open minded people that make you feel at home. I learned many practical things about living off grid (building a fire, cleaning solar panels, how their water system works etc etc) and looking after horses in a most natural/ethical way possible. The surrounding nature is

It is like a little community together with the neighbours; everyone collaborates with one another. (special shoutout to Brie, who helps look after the horses aswell and with whom I went on many little adventures with the animals)
Since it is in the mountains, you are usually either walking up or down a hill to get anywhere, so that is a free workout. (Or down the rambla, where there are many little streams to cross :)
P.S. I must also mention the cats, of course. They are always up to something and there is never a dull moment with them around. They also love to purr on your lap for hours.
Originally, I planned to stay for a month, and ended up staying 3.5 months.
I felt like I arrived as a workawayer, and left as a friend.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

I spent 1 month and a half with Andy and Amanda. I don't even know how to describe how wonderful was my stay at Los Plumas with them. It was my first workaway experience and I don't think I could find a better place. I really felt at home, as a family member, with their 4 dogs, 3 cats and 4 horses. The rides were amazing, I'll never forget

I had my first workaway expierence with Amanda and Andy and it was absolutely great!

The 4 weeks I stayed here were 4 lovely weeks with Amanda, Andy and sometimes other people that came and went. ;) I felt at home pretty soon, and enjoyed every piece of life in the environment, apart from the little mosquitoes ;) I learned a lot about horses and Natural Horsemanship which I found really interesting, Amanda is a great teacher.
