Where to start? Our time with Marina and Metello was incredible. And we were so lucky that we had the chance to use the guest room – so we literally shared their way of living. We
… read more helped with the chicken and in the garden, and of course we tried to keep the house clean. It is a unique place that they have, and you immediately see how much work is involved. At the same time, they put in a lot of effort when it comes to meals – we still dream of Marina's Cantucci and the always delicious lunch. We are so thankful for being treated like friends, having the opportunity to join community events and even the school's holiday program. These weeks will make a difference in our lives, and we look forward to meet again, on Flores (such a beautiful island!) or in Spain. All the best to you, Marina, Metello, the super sweet boys and of course greetings to Jarek!

Sorry this is such a late review! My partner and I had a lovely three weeks on Flores with Marina, Metello, and Morgan (back in May 2023!). The work was exciting and varied everyday, always something related to the garden or keeping the house tidy. Usually we did the work somewhat independently after Marina gave great instructions. I stayed with Marina and Metello for around two weeks and this was by far the best workaway experience i've ever had.

… read more everything I needed at all times, and It was such a flow of work with animals, Preparing Food (lots of special salads) and Arasaa Jam :D and helping around the house, taking care of Morgan and initiating him into the world of music ! Also, I was part of the family, after being away from home for so long, it was special to witness all the little things as a family, even stuff as going out and preparing for a birthday, and doing things together. This feeling of Togetherness That bonds us like magnets even though our ego's try to run away from it, it's always there, it is who we are. I get too poetic sometimes, but I think it is our job to enjoy our lives to the fullness of our hearts, and that through our love we grow and forever grow!! Also Morgan is such a superstar in this house that you'll literally feel so much joy just being around him! God Bless you all ! My experience with Metello and Marina was really good during a harsh winter at Flores Island. The work was fun, renovating the inside of the house, helping in the preparation of the garden and giving food to the chicken. Moreover, little Morgan would put a smile on anyone's face the moment you saw him, it was really nice to experience some weeks

As they say, the social life in Flores couldn't be more intense, especially contrasting with the lockdown that mainland Portugal was experiencing. Being a Covid Free spot up until now, gatherings, yoga classes, jam sessions and many more things meant getting to know very interesting people from all over the world that have settled in Flores.
The island's natural beauty is impossible to describe, walking alongside such beautiful landscapes is enough to make anyone fall in love with the island.

What can I say to describe one of the best experiences I've had? They literally saved my life during the pandemic. I couldn't find a place in Barcelona and they took me under their wing and let me stay with them for the whole lockdown and further on. They are the most kind, cool, generous, clever, funny and easy going people I've met in my life.
… read more We had such a blast together! They always did their best to make me feel comfortable: they gave me space whenever I needed, they always thanked me for every little thing I did to help them (even if it was a "duty") and they always made me feel at home. And then, they both are so interesting: both travelled a lot and they have lot of stories to tell and both very involved in the social-economic-environmental topic so that there's always something new to learn or talk about. I couldn't ask for better companions during a lockdown. And what can I say about their baby? He's a ray of sunshine. Taking care of him was everything but a "job" and seeing him growing up was a real gift. So well.. whoever is reading this the answer is yes, they are the right choice to make.
