We live off-grid in the hills outside Lucena del Cid, in a quiet area with great views and nearby hiking trails. It’s a peaceful, simple place that’s perfect if you enjoy nature, animals, and a slower pace of life. We share the space with our three dogs: Ubba is calm and loyal, Koko is playful and sweet, and Poco is curious and with a big personality. We also have a small flock of easygoing chickens. We really value the quiet, clean spring water, and being surrounded by nature—and if that sounds like your kind of place, you’ll probably love it too.

Staying here offers a chance to experience off-grid living in a rural part of Spain, surrounded by nature and far from the usual tourist paths. You'll get a feel for sustainable, low-impact living—using solar power, spring-fed water, a compost toilet, and a gray water system. We're close to small mountain towns like Lucena del Cid and Atzeneta del Maestrat, where you can explore local markets, regional food, and village life. If you're interested in eco-living, quiet reflection, or just seeing a different side of Spain, this is a unique opportunity to slow down and connect with the land, animals, and a simpler way of life.
Ayuda
We’re looking for someone responsible and animal-loving to care for our home, dogs, and chickens while we’re away. You’ll feed and spend time with our three dogs—Ubba, Koko, and Poco—make sure they have fresh water, bring their beds in at night, and give them some daily attention. The chickens are easy to care for and just need food, water, and a quick daily check. You’ll also monitor our off-grid systems: check solar battery levels, use water and power mindfully, and stick to biodegradable products due to our gray water setup. A few houseplants need weekly watering, and outdoor plants may need occasional care depending on the weather. Please note: you’ll need your own car—we’re about 30 minutes from the nearest town and the road to the house is unpaved and rough in spots. This setup is best for someone comfortable in a quiet, remote environment and capable of being self-sufficient.

You’ll stay in our main bedroom while we’re away, which is comfortable and private. When we're home, you’re welcome to stay in our small cabana just a short walk from the house—it’s simple but cozy, with everything you need for a good night’s rest. You'll have full access to the house during the day, including the kitchen, bathroom, and dedicated workspace with a desk, monitor, and keyboard.

For digital nomads, our place offers a peaceful, quiet environment with reliable high-speed internet, perfect for remote work. You’ll have access to a dedicated workspace with a desk, monitor, and keyboard, ensuring a comfortable setup for productivity. The peaceful surroundings make it easy to focus, and you’ll have plenty of space to unwind during breaks. The only thing to note is that we’re in a remote location, so you'll need your own car to get around. Otherwise, it’s a great spot for balancing work with some downtime in nature.
Espacio para aparcar autocaravanas
While we don’t have a dedicated campsite or hookups for campers or motorhomes, there is space around the property where you could park a smaller camper or motorhome if needed. The land is private and surrounded by nature, so you’ll have a peaceful, secluded spot to stay. However, keep in mind that the road leading up to the property is unpaved and can be a bit rough, so vehicles with higher clearance are recommended. We don’t have specific facilities set up for campers, but you'll have full access to the house for things like water, bathroom, and Wi-Fi during the day. It’s a good option for those looking for a more remote, nature-filled experience, just keep in mind the need for a self-sufficient setup.
