We are looking for people Jan 6th onwards.
We pride ourselves on taking ex-racehorses with injuries that would normally be cast aside due to the cost of keeping them in racing yards and stables. We are set up to take these beautiful animals and give them the time they need to heal. This is often at least a year and sometimes longer. We then retrain them, if they enjoy their racing, we will sometimes take them to local small country race tracks over the summer. If not, we will make them into riding horses where we do rigorous homechecks to ensure a forever home. There is no exchange of money as this is just a hobby for myself and Tom. The horse's welfare is our number 1 priority, we are animal lovers!
You will need to be proficient around horses, on their backs and on the ground. We do a lot of work on the ground to re-establish trust with the horse, this involves, long reining, lunging and general love, time and attention. We talk to them, massage and groom them.
They are not stabled, these horses are free to roam around with each other, we try to emulate the natural environment, they are only stabled if they are injured and need box rest.
We do all our work on the beach. We exercise our horses in swimming pools that are made of sea water and we do gentle work with the horses on the beach in sand. We never do anything the horse does not want or enjoy. Combined, Tom and I have over 40 years experience with horses, I promise you will learn a lot from us and I am sure there is much you can teach us too.
DIY workawayers also necessary. So if you are not a horse person, please feel free to contact us.
We live in the beautiful sunny south east in Rosslare Strand, Co. Wexford Ireland, (1 mile from the beach). You would live in a self catering apartment with other Workawayers from various countries. It is a shared bedroom (share with up to 4 people), mod cons; Wifi, big smart tv, Netflix and loads of other channels, dishwasher and washing machine , full kitchen etc. The apartment sleeps 4.
The apartment is on our 3 acre property next to our house.
We live by the train, buses and we provide you with bikes to cycle around the village and to the beach. We have a cold pool and outdoor sauna that you will have full excess to use them. We provide your food. You will have plenty of free time to explore this beautiful Island. Contact us if you think you may be interested. We have lots of cats and dogs, so a general love of animals is nice to have as well :-)Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

You will have access to the beach, train to dublin and bikes to cycle around to see the sites. Rosslare Strand is the 'sunny southeast' , a very popular destination for tourists. Particularly in the summer time and is also lovely in the autumn. It is very beautiful. We live in Rural Ireland in an old farmhouse on three acres. If you are a city slicker, it is a great contrast, if you are a country bumpkin, then you will feel right at home whilst learning English.
