Descripción
Our home is on a 10 acre property where there are always jobs to be done. We also have a house right in the village where helpers can stay. Our kids range 13-19yo, and we have a dog, two cats, and four ducks.
Metung is a small village situated in the heart of the Gippsland Lakes, approx 4hrs from Melbourne. In close vicinity to rivers, lakes and the Ninety Mile Beach, the area offers lots of water sports and nature-based activities.
Accommodation is either at the house in the village, or at our place in the spare bedroom. If you stay at the house in the village then you will be self-contained; or at our house you will share our facilities.
We ask for 15 solid hours per week. We find this works best when it's done over 5 days/wk (so that you get days off) but we're flexible as long as the work gets done. Helpers need to be motivated and able to work independently. Details will be discussed directly upon application.
Our home is within walking distance of the Metung village (pub, restaurants/cafes, general store, gift shop). A bus service is available from Swan Reach (5 mins from Metung) to Bairnsdale and Lakes Entrance so own transport is not essential but an asset if wanting to explore this beautiful district.

Alojamiento
Accommodation is in a self-contained two bedroom holiday flat that is a five minute walk from our home. If the flats are fully booked we can accommodate you at our home however our preference is to house you at the flats where you are fully self-contained and can maintain greater privacy.
We provide all food - help yourself to breakfast and lunch, we cook dinner for you; some flexibility e.g. if you're a good cook you're welcome to cook. We don't accommodate special dietary requests like chocolate. we are not vegan.

This is a beautiful part of Victoria, Metung is hidden within a coastal forest and rolling hills, surrounded by the pristine water of the magnificent Gippsland Lakes. From Metung you can travel from sand to snow in a relatively unbroken chain of ecosystems. from coastal heathlands and forests, into the wildflower-rich eucalypt forests of the foothills, warm temperate rainforests of streams and shady gullies, then up to the higher rainfall tall, wet mountain forests thick with tree ferns and towering giants. These natural wonders eventually join up with the alpine environments and snow adapted forests and herb fields of the high country. There's a lot of wildlife in its natural habitat such as koalas, kangaroos, echidnas, kookaburras, dolphins and more. But public transport in the area is limited so your own car is desirable.
