Hello lovely workawyers,
My name is Salah. I am 30 years old. I live in a small village in the province of Zagoura, Tagounite. The village is well-known for its tranquality and modesty of the few people who live here. The village is located in a very popular oasis in the area whose name is KTAWA. The oasis is surrounded by mountains and rivers. The village is located in the south-east of Morocco. Our ancestors used to live here for decades before most people immigrated to cities because of the draught and water-shortage. But we ( inherit of our ancestors) decided to come back to our origins and face all the difficulties. The village has some old buildings and Kasabahs that shows the real historical monuments that are left and traced by our ancestors.
For nature and landscape, there are unique landings to grow wheat and palm trees that give dates. There are some wells that are used as water resources. For animals, there are sheep, goats, and chicken. Our ancestors used to herd sheep before they settled down here. Besides, there are many numerous traditions related to the nomadic and our life here . You will learn these traditio Ins by living them, you will be a part of us. The traditions are left as surprises for you to experience and explore them by doing them. We can communicate using English, French, a little of Spanish. More than that, I can teach you some familiar expressions of Tamazight language and Arabic language to use with my family and when meeting the locals.
Learning how to prepare traditional tea, traditional food, and dancing with music is the most attractive part of my host.
For work, You will work only for three hours and the other time is yours to learn our traditions and explore the old kasabah. We would like to repair our old house, making bricks, building walls, digging a well, taking care of our farm and picking the dates from palm trees. Herding sheep and feeding them.
I can't wait to meet you dear workawyers!
YOUR SECOND HOME IS WATING TO HOST YOU.

This part is the most interesting one. As I have mentioned before, the main objective of my host is reciprocal learning. Learning my culture heritage and comparing it to the workawayers one. Here are some cultural exchanges we will be doing:
1- Exploring the Amazigh and Moroccan cuisine like How to prepare tea, tajine, couscous, berber pizza...
2- Exploring the lifestyle of Amazigh people in the village.
3- Exploring the historical monuments of the kasabah. The techniques and materials used in building old houses.
4- Discover the geographical destinations like mountains, rivers, palm trees, star- filled sky...
5- Organising group evening discussions related to different topics ...
6- Learn and talk Tamazight or Arabic with my family and locals after I teach you some familiar expressions...
En este proyecto podría haber niños. Para obtener más información, consulta nuestras directrices y consejos aquí.
Our goal is learning from each other. Thus, the tasks you will be doing will be part of learning and exploring my own culture and the life of our ancestors. It is not hard and will be lasting for only three hours a day while the weekends are off, here are some help we need:
1- Making bricks.
2- Constructing and building related to repairing the old house.
3- Herding sheep and feeding them
4- Taking care of the garden by watering and harvesting it and digging a a hole.
5- Picking dates from palm trees.
6- Decorating the garden
7- Sharing cooking traditions.
8-REMEMBER: YOU ARE VOLUNTEERS NOT WORKERS. YOU ARE HERE TO HAVE FUN AND LEARN SO, YOU CAN SELECT THE WORK YOU ARE COMFORTABLE WITH.
