We have a small hobby farm just outside of Gunnedah, NSW. growing mostly summer veggies. We are now coming out of winter when activity speeds up going into Spring. Planting and transplanting will begin in October. The only winter crop we grow are white onions, so they will need watering and weeding.
We have just had a major flood come through our property (August) so the next few months we will be clearing flood debris from fences and repairing them.
We are listed in a Disaster Recovery Area (2380) from floods in 2022, so can sign off on the 88 visa for volunteer only.
There is tractor driving or mowing with a zero-turn, some painting jobs around the house, sauce and relish making from our own produce and other chores associated with a farm.
We live on a major river (Namoi) so have wildlife and birds to see. We are looking for helpers but also include you in our social circle and family events. We've hosted volunteers for the last 10 years from various websites and enjoyed learning about different cultures.
We have a room with a king size bed in the house or a room with bunk beds. You would be sharing meals with us in return for 4 hours work most days. We prefer a stay of 2 weeks or more. We have Jack Russell dogs that will follow you around the farm and down to the river.
Our town Gunnedah - about 10,000 people - is about 2km away, a typical country town reliant on agriculture but also has a growing coal mine industry. There is train service from Sydney daily.

We are a multicultural family. My husband was born and raised in this town. I migrated from Texas, USA 30 years ago. You will be treated as part of the family so we include you in all of our activities and outings. We've hosted backpackers from Japan, UK, USA, Canada, Germany, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, France, Poland.
Ayuda
The work is very basic and repetitive: watering greenhouse and outdoor plants, picking vegetables, pulling weeds, watering crops, mowing the lawn... We have chickens for eggs and Jack Russell dogs and a few cattle when the seasons are good. If you have a special skill we will try and utilise it. We also make a range of Pickles, Chutneys, Sauces and Jams from our own produce and sell on farm or at the local markets. There is always something to do around the place.

We offer a room with a king size bed or a room with bunk beds and you would be sharing meals with us. In the summer we have fresh veggies to eat, we don't follow a strict vegetarian diet but don't mind if you do. We eat meat and often Texas style BBQ.

I tend to spend a lot of time fishing down on the river. We are in a floodplain surrounded by hills. There are national and state forests to explore. Tamworth is about an hour away for more shopping and site-seeing. We are accessible by train from Sydney or flights to Tamworth from elsewhere. We have full phone coverage and wifi.
