I'm an active widow although retired, mid 60s needing help with painting inside and on the terrace of my newly finished project, 2 bedroom town house, and a few other little odd jobs, a little furniture upcycling perhaps. The main building work will have been completed by the time you get here, and I'll have moved in, making it home.
I've lived here in this beautiful Pueblo Blanco for the past 18 years and love walking in the countryside here, the National Park Sierra de las Nieves which is a Unesco designated area of outstanding beauty and has recently been given National Park Status. Bird lovers, walkers, hikers, nature lovers, this is the perfect place for you to experience the benefits of laid back authentic Andalucian mountain village life in the heart of La Sierra de Las Nieves. You'll fall in love with this place and never want to leave. I did.
Not to mention a fabulous opportunity to experience life in the real rural andalucia and practice speaking and listening to Spanish.
I love food and cook all my own nutritions, tasty homecooked meals, which I'm sure you'll enjoy too. I enjoy making people welcome in my home and look forward to hearing from you if you're interested in helping a slightly bonkers persioner in her new and exciting project!

You will love Yunquera as it's the perfect place to experience the benefits of living in a truly authentic rural Andalucian mountain community. This is Real Spain, no pies or chips here! You will hear typical Spanish all around, see how the Andalucians live, enjoy the local cuisine if you choose to visit the bars for tapas, there's an authentic bodega where the local Mosto and Aguadiente is made. There are many local dishes to be sampled in the bars and restaurants, which use local produce. In your free time you can explore the wonderful mountains and countryside, boasting a wonderful array of bird and wildlife. This truly is a haven. This is an ideal opportunity if you wish to improve your Spanish too, or simply experience the tranquility of the area. Malaga and Ronda are connected by bus. There are surrounding white villages on the bus routes too.
I welcome someone who is vegetarian although I can include some meat and fish if you like as I enjoy it too; non-smoking, hard working, responsible. Someone who has a good sense of humour, loves nature, mountains, tasty nutritious home-cooked food, music, travel and willing to put up with a cranky granny who is young at heart!
Non-smoking house. Own room in my small 2 bedroom edge of town house, fabulous views. Shared bathroom/wc (with me). In winter I use a wood burner.I need you to paint the inerior walls, I hate loathe and detest painting! Lovely peaceful living area.
Unless you choose to eat out, I will provide breakfast, lunch and supper. The main meal is usually at lunch time, supper being something light like homemade soup or fresh free range local eggs from my friend's finca. I enjoy food so cook for myself and I hope you'll enjoy my food too. Be warned, I love spices and herbs, although not everything is spiced.
In your free time you can enjoy exploring the breathtaking beauty of the localality. Torrecilla, 1,986 meters above sea level, one of the mountains you can see from the village and my little roof terrace is the highest in la Sierra de las Nieves and the most important mountain in Malaga. Yunquera is situated in the heart of La Sierra de las Nieves, which has just been given National Park Status. Walkers, hikers, nature lovers, bird watchers and people seeking peace and quiet come here. The views are nothing less than breathtaking. The village itself has its own unique charm, a few small museums, working bodega, bars restaurants, olive, orange, almond and cherry groves, avocados and general produce are all found locally.
From Malaga AGP international airport, you get the train straight to Malaga, then the bus from the train station up to Yunquera. Or you can hire a car from the airport.
Malaga and Ronda are accessed by road or bus as are the surrounding white villages.
Malaga, Marbella, Torremolinos, Fuengirola are all more or less an hour and a quarter away by car if you hire one or have your own.
Ronda is about 45 minutes by car.
Algodonales is about 1 hour 20 minutes by car.
Granada is about 2 and a half hours by car.
There are so many beautiful places to visit or you can simply be still and relax.
Please note that this is a rural area, there are no clubs here, so if you're looking for a mad night life, this is not the place for you I'm afraid. Bring your Kindle, it's a great place for reading and just chilling.

Although you wouldn't be able to park in my street, it's too narrow, you could park up down the bottom of the street, there are lenty of places around the village, camper vans often stop off here, it's a wonderful place to explore.
