Mark and Margaret are fabulous hosts, they were always present for me when I needeed and really kind and receptive. I'm always stressfull when I go to a foreign country because of the language but I felt reassured; thanks to them.
Ashland is a very interesting town, with a great festival. We did a lot of activities together such as camping, biking around a lake, swimming and so on... I always had fun in this active family.
Feel free to come in this family, you won't regret it !

During the month of August, Claire joined our family in Ashland, Oregon. She is a gracious and considerate person, easy to live with and she responds enthusiastically to all tasks. Claire was responsible for our three children and she always found ways to connect well with each child. Everyday, she had a list of duties to complete: Caring for
… read more children and pets, cleaning, food preparation and completing errands in town.
Claire is a quiet person. She watches, listens and engages with others in a patient and considerate manner. My children especially appreciated her gentle manner. Sometimes children are frightened of new people, but not Claire.. my children trusted her immediately and were always relaxed with her. Claire has such a good heart.
She may be quiet, but she understands English perfectly. She speaks fluently. Her English level was more than sufficient and she offered all the help that I needed.
We recommend that Claire Gomes be considered for any position requiring trust, reliability, kindness and hard work.

Samantha is a super star!!! Four stars isn't enough :-) Sam and her sweet dog 'Tom' lived with us for 6 weeks. She is a what I call a "high-quality individual", a person who is an asset to any situation, wherever she goes. Samantha understands people, and how to communicate and connect; she is very wise (and only 21, I now have tremendous

I enjoyed reading Doug's profile, with such a wide array of experiences, and I had a good 'feeling' about him. As soon as we met, I thought, "Phew, I was right! Doug is awesome!" Because within a few days of meeting, we had planned to leave our home, vacation rental, plentiful pets and garden in his hands for a week while we were on
… read more vacation. I couldn't have been happier with his integrity and care for our place. He did far more than asked (fixed the gate, planted kale, thoroughly cleaned the vacuum) and I appreciated our good communication.
Best of all, Doug is so pleasant to be with- interesting, open-minded, funny and compassionate. The housesitting agreement was complete, but we all simply wanted him to stay! So, we all lived and worked together for another couple of weeks; and Doug will return for a longer housesit this summer.
There is so much I admire about Doug. When I am 65, I want to travel the world as he does- with incredible flexibility, patience, enthusiasm and a warm heart. Way to go, Doug! Everyone you meet is blessed in some way.

I recommend this experience as Most Excellent. The home is within walking distance of a great ice-cream parlor, The Shakespeare Festival, local cinema and cool little walks. Both small dogs, Rusty and Muggle, are good companions -- not yappy or annoying. The household directions are specific but there is room for larger, more self-directed projects. So, jump in and enjoy the positive energy and every changing environs of this Gresham Avenue abode.

… read more considerate person. She naturally brings out the best in others. All three of my children, even the shy and sensitive ones, felt very comfortable with her.
Nicola is certainly hard-working. I had to remind her a few times that I didn't expect her to work full-time, but she would smile and say, "but this is the work of daily life and I'm happy to be here." Everyday I felt such appreciation for her help. And we played a lot! Kudos to Nicola for engaging in so many new sports and holiday hoopla.
If Nicola requests a work-stay at your home or farm, the best answer is Yes. She is reliable, industrious and always kind, she is a gem!

Mark and Margaret are amazing hosts! They are really open-minded to different cultures and very supportive of me going out to explore the beautiful downtown areas and places around Ashland.
Their kids are a joyful bunch! Kendra is a sweet and knowledgeable tween- and one of the most avid readers! (as well as a great harry potter fan! high five!) Simon is an active kid and we spent a good time together playing games of all sorts! And Lousia, one of the most adorable and smartest babies in the world, and one who offers great joy and sometimes minor troubles in the house!:p
And how can I forget to mention Maria, the girl from Brazil! She is kind and helpful! And I really enjoyed our late afternoon conversations about food, school and just everything!
Thank you all so much for the awesome experience, not only did I get to appreciate the everyday lives of your family, but also the opportunity to learn some handy cooking and experience skiing, ice skating and many of my very-first trys at sports!
