House & Dog Sitting in an eco-Home on Utila Island, Honduras
Hi there! Looking for a peaceful escape on the beautiful island of Utila? I'm on the lookout for someone to care for my home and my four lovely dogs while I’m away. 🐶🌿
The Bay Islands are former British Colonies and therefore the majority of people here speak English. If you are looking to learn Spanish, this might not be your best island to learn on. This is a party/diving/beach island, I live 3 km out of town.
Days can be spent snorkeling, diving, beach lying, kayaking - there isn't a whole lot more.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Dog Care: My pups are my world, so their routine is important! They eat twice a day after their walks. Walks happen around 6 AM and 4 PM, and twice a week, they’ll need a fun trip to the beach (they love it!). Three of the dogs need daily meds, which are super easy to handle. They can't be outside alone, so they'll need your watchful eye when they’re exploring.
Eco Home: The house is eco-friendly with limited electricity and internet, perfect for going off-grid. The toilet is a compost one, and since we’re in rainy season, it’s all about keeping things sustainable. 🌧️🌱 Compost toilet generally needs to be changed once/week.
Food: While I won’t be providing meals, I’ll leave staples in the house for you to use, and the kitchen is yours to cook up whatever you like.
Bonus: I’ve got you covered with free book rentals from the local library/bookstore in town! 📚 Perfect for unwinding during your stay.Idiomas

Accommodation: You’ll have your own room, though privacy is limited with half walls and curtains. It’s cozy and functional, great for a laid-back island vibe.
There are always bugs on the island - mosquitoes, sand flies, etc. The house is very open - there is a sandfly net on the guest bed. I do occasionally have scorpions and tarantulas inside the house.
Transportation: You’ll have a bicycle to get around, which is ideal for getting to town or exploring the island.

A tourist visa for Honduras is given when you enter the country - it is good for 90 days. - Unless you are coming in from one of the CA4 countries (Guatemala, El Salvador or Nicaragua), a visa is only good for 90 days for all 3 countries, a legal 1 month visa for the mentioned countries can be obtained legally in La Ceiba for about 450 Lempiras (contact me for additional visa questions.
Get groceries in La Ceiba, if you can - food is 1/2 the cost on the mainland. I do not have a refrigerator.Un poco más de información
