… read more freundliches Wesen war unsere gemeinsame Zeit für alle unsere Familienmitglieder durchgehend sehr angenehm. Auch unser Freundeskreis ist sehr froh ihn kennengelernt zu haben. Varun ist allem gegenüber aufgeschlossen und interessiert. Kultureller Austausch vom Feinsten und ganz im Sinne von Workaway. Eigentlich war von uns geplant, dass wir Hilfe im Garten benötigen. Diese Arbeit hat Varun auch super erledigt. Aber dann hat sich ergeben, dass er mir eine komplett neue Homepage gebaut hat. Dafür hat Varun sehr viel Energie aufgewendet, sich in die Inhalte und in die technischen Dinge einzuarbeiten. Er hat mit der AI wundervolle Bilder generiert, so dass ich jetzt gefühlt die beste Homepage der Welt habe. Eine bessere Hilfe hätte ich mir nicht wünschen können. Außerdem hat Varun ein tolles Feeling für Tiere. Unser Hund hat ihn auch sofort geliebt. Besonders schön war auch, dass Varun manchmal traditionelle indische Linsengerichte gekocht hat. Außerdem hat er wann immer nötig unaufgefordert im Haushalt geholfen, was für mich auch eine große Hilfe war. Varun hat uns angeboten, uns bei der Planung zukünftiger Reisen zu unterstützen, da dies sein eigentlicher Job ist.
Wir hoffen sehr, Varun bald wieder zu treffen. Wir sind alle überglücklich ihn kennengelernt zu haben. Er wird auf immer ein Platz in unserem Herzen haben.

Varun was our first Workaway visitor and we are totally thrilled. We had a super interesting exchange. Through his life experience and traveling around the globe, he has so many beautiful, wise stories to tell that every conversation was enriching. His sensitive and friendly nature made our time together very enjoyable for all our family members. Our circle of friends is also very happy to have met him. Varun is open-minded and interested in everything. Cultural exchange at its best and very much in the spirit of Workaway. We had actually planned that we would need help in the garden. Varun did a great job. But then it turned out that he built me a completely new homepage. Varun spent a lot of energy familiarizing himself with the content of what I am doing and technical aspects. He generated wonderful images with the AI so that I now have what feels like the best homepage in the world. I couldn't have wished for better help. Varun also has a great feeling for animals. Our dog loved him straight away. It was especially nice that Varun sometimes cooked traditional Indian lentil dishes. He also helped around the house whenever necessary without being asked, which was also a great help for me. Varun has offered to help us plan future trips, as this is his actual job.
We very much hope to meet Varun again soon. We are all overjoyed to have met him. He will always have a place in our hearts.

Staying with Nicole and her family was truly one of the best experiences I've had through Workaway. Having been hosted by several Workaway hosts in Germany, I can confidently say that Nicole's place embodies the real essence of Workaway – cultural exchange. From the moment I arrived, every member of the family, including their friendly dog,
… read more welcomed me as one of their own. The hospitality I received here reminded me of my early travelling days, especially with platforms like Couchsurfing, where people opened their homes with the simple desire to connect, share stories, and embrace different cultures.
One thing that really stood out was Nicole's response when my next host cancelled at the last minute. She graciously allowed me to stay longer despite the change in plans, which truly speaks to her flexibility and kindness. It was a huge relief during a stressful time, and I’m so grateful for how understanding and accommodating she was.
Nicole also introduced me to her wonderful social circle, and I must say, everyone I met was incredibly warm and friendly. One of them even took me on a local tour of the nearby villages, where I had the chance to see the beautiful 'Fachwerkhauses'. Thanks to these lovely people, I learned so much about the history and architecture of the region and gained a deeper appreciation for the local culture of the Harz Mountains.
Originally, I came to help with gardening, but as we got to know each other, it became clear that my skills in website development would be more beneficial. It was a pleasure to help them with their website, a skill I’ve developed over the past 10 years, and it felt great to contribute in a meaningful way.
The stay itself was not overly disciplined – and I always felt comfortable and at home. In return, I did my best to respect their family values and the trust they placed in me, which was immense.
This was an unforgettable experience, and I left with lifelong memories of the kindness and generosity of this wonderful family. I would wholeheartedly recommend this place to any future Workaway volunteer. Just remember to appreciate and respect their openness, hospitality, and the trust they show in you.Comentarios
