I am a cultural-hybrid who has been traveling since the beginning. I have a 300 year old stone farmhouse that I have been restoring alone, mostly by hand and sustainably following old vernacular techniques and some new stuff. I would like very much to have company, insight, hands to continue the work and to see my house be the kind of wondrous gathering place I think it can be.
I'm also interested in anyone who would be interested in helping me with my art/writing archives and/or setting up a social media presence for a unique sustainability program I'm developing.
PS: My reply rate is not reflective of correspondenceas I tend to migrate communications to more immediate platforms asap. Also, I am juggling an ambitious project on my own so something as basic as a hurting my back, computer difficulties or a family situation (my elderly parents) can impinge directly on my ability to meet your urgency. If you don't hear from me within 3 days: write again. Thks.Tipos de ayuda y oportunidades de aprendizaje

I am an artist, teacher, prof of communications, philosophy, activism (and other things)... I study sense and sense-making and am developing various teaching practices including: Social Literacies, Continuum Politics and Situation Design. A lot of the experiences at my house are foreign to those of us who have grown up in urban centers. Living here is an ongoing encounter with one's senses, comforts, limits, presumptions and curiosity.
Working on my house, I have learned a lot about local and vernacular construction (what was sustainable before 'sustainability') and would love to learn from others about architecture, gardening & permaculture, languages (esp: Spanish, Greek & French), culture, art and activism internationally.
House is full of books, art, tools, things to make, to improvise and find solutions for.
Near Asolo, Bassano, Padova, Vicenza and Venice on the southern sloe of the Italian Alps below Cima Grappa.
I love sharing, teaching and working out how to change the world and my long-term plan is to create a center.
I am especially interested in meeting people who might be interested in long-term friendships and house-sharing.

All kinds of projects to be done, including:
Basics: cleaning, painting, gardening, sewing, computer help,
Skilled: electrical, metal work, carpentry, wall plastering with lime, permaculture...
A lot of projects here require inventive thinking and problem-solving. I try to reuse old pieces and parts to fix things and/or create new uses.Idiomas

Stone farmhouse about 20 minutes from trains (Bassano) with bus just below house. On the side of the Alps under Cima Grappa. About an hour fifteen NW from Venice, 45-1 hour N of Padova & east of Vicenza.
House is old (300-500 years) primitive, authentic to its origins, otherwise very comfy. Guestroom with big size bed made of two singles) and attic with multiple bed possibilities, also, a sleep sofa in entrance/office and kitchen/living room.
Big bathtub (shower parts to install) heated by wood burning water heater, divine but requires some patience and regular wood preparation - daily/weekly maintenance, not a ' help project.'
Perfect environment for anyone interested in sustainability and vernacular architecture, building, living.
PS: I dont always have enough time to respond to inquiries...

I live in an old house [300-500 yrs old] that is not quite off-grid but with fewer modern amenities than many who are truly offgrid. This means that Workaway help-guests find themselves immersed in an experience that exceeds most contemporary definitions of modern sustainability. In truth, my existence is more in keeping with… read more

I'm so incredibly grateful for everything you have taught us and how you welcomed us into your loving home. This didn't just feel like a regular workaway experience, this felt like coming home to an old friend. I'm so glad we got to meet you and learn things far beyond what we imagined.
