We had a really enjoyable week at Vale Da Sarvinda via workaway. They put us up in one of the lovely huts that Luis had built himself and we had everything we needed to cook as well as some fresh produce from the vegetable garden.
The work differed somewhat from that which was on the profile because they had some really important deadlines so we

We did some acorn picking, some general tidying up around the site, helped with the setting up of the huts for some new guests, worked with Malgarida to prepare some welcome packs showing off the site produce for a meeting and also did some photos for social media use. The work environment was extremely relaxed and they were happy to let us just crack on and come up with our own ideas on doing things. Everyone was open to new ideas and suggestions and really enjoyable to work with!
By the time we left after our short week we felt we’d learnt a lot about Vale Da Sarvinda and also felt like part of the team. We are excited to return at some point in the future to see how they have progressed.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

Staying at Vale da Sarvinda was an awesome experience. It was my first Workaway project and I couldn't imagine it better. Joao and Luis always helped me if I needed something and supporting wherever I wanted to go. I had the opportunity to increase my knowledge not just about permaculture and gardening, but also about sustainable and alternative

The self-sufficient life is the main concept of the site, they have solar panels, wastewater treatment, olive trees, mushroom glasshouse,… and 2 lovely dogs and cats :) The area is surrounded by splendidly beautiful nature, next to the Tejo National Park, down in the valley. During my free time, I had the opportunity to explore it and swim in the river. It was absolutely amazing, therefore I recommend anyone who has interest in such project to join them. I wish you guys a lot of success in the future, your project has a lot of potential to grow fully. Thanks again and perhaps we see each other again soon, hopefully. Cheers,
