    Descripción

This is a non-profit Eco Yoga Ashram and spiritual retreat center in Brazil, dedicated to Bhakti Yoga, Vedic philosophy, and conscious living. It is a place where spirituality, community life, and connection with nature come together.

We are located in a peaceful natural environment, surrounded by greenery, where you can enjoy a simple lifestyle, fresh air, hiking, and the opportunity to disconnect from the busy pace of city life.

    The people behind this place

    Adriana and Rodrigo

We are a couple in our 40s, Adriana from Colombia and Rodrigo from Brazil. Since the beginning of the pandemic, we have been responsible for taking care of the ashram and developing this project together.

Neither of us had previous experience living in the countryside, so over the years we have learned a great deal, from construction and maintenance to solving the everyday challenges of rural life. It has been a continuous journey of learning, adaptation, and personal growth.

Adriana has been practicing Vedic culture for over 15 years and is deeply involved in Bhakti Yoga and spiritual activities. Rodrigo is a mechanical engineer who brings his technical knowledge and practical skills to the development and maintenance of the ashram.

    Shanto

Originally from the United Kingdom, Shanto is a Vaishnava monk in his 70s who has been practicing and teaching this spiritual tradition for over 50 years. He is an important part of our community and leads the daily classes on Vedic philosophy, sharing his knowledge and experience with residents and visitors.

    Maria and Gilmar

Our neighbors and an essential part of our community, Maria and Gilmar have lived in this area for over 30 years, where they raised their children. They help us with various daily tasks and have been fundamental to the development of this place.

When we first arrived, their extensive experience of rural life was invaluable. They helped us learn how to live and work in the countryside, sharing their practical knowledge, skills, and local wisdom. Today, they continue to be an important part of our community.

    Life

We are a small community that values cooperation, simplicity, spirituality, and cultural exchange. Our daily life includes gardening, cooking vegetarian meals, maintaining the ashram, and participating in spiritual practices such as yoga, meditation, kirtan, and Vedic philosophy classes.

We welcome people from different cultures and backgrounds who are interested in learning, sharing their skills, connecting with nature, and experiencing community life. We see volunteering as an opportunity for mutual learning, meaningful relationships, and growing together through service.

Intercambio cultural y oportunidades de aprendizaje

Cultural exchange is a natural part of everyday life. We are a multicultural community, with people from Brazil, Colombia, and the UK, and we enjoy welcoming people from different backgrounds and cultures.

Volunteers can share daily activities with us, such as cooking vegetarian meals, gardening, working on community projects, and participating in spiritual practices like yoga, kirtan, meditation, and Vedic philosophy classes. They will also have the opportunity to connect with our local neighbors and experience Brazilian rural life.

We are happy to share our knowledge of Bhakti Yoga, Vedic philosophy, vegetarian cooking, Ayurvedic spices, and sustainable living. We can also exchange practical skills related to gardening, construction, and everyday life in the countryside.

We see hosting as a two-way learning experience. We are curious to discover different cultures, traditions, languages, ideas, and ways of life. We hope to learn from our volunteers' experiences, share stories, develop friendships, and broaden our perspectives.

Above all, we believe that living and working together, with respect, kindness, and an open heart, is a wonderful way to build meaningful connections and learn from one another.

    Ayuda

Life involves a variety of daily activities, and we welcome volunteers who enjoy practical work, nature, spirituality, and community living.

Depending on the season and our current needs, volunteers may help with:

Cooking: Preparing vegetarian meals together, exploring Ayurvedic spices, and keeping the kitchen organized.
Gardening and plants: Taking care of our gardens, planting, watering, composting, and maintaining green spaces.
Maintenance and cleaning: Keeping the ashram, shared spaces, and facilities clean, organized, and welcoming.
Construction and improvement projects: Participating in projects such as building new cottages, renovations, painting, and other improvements to our facilities.
Community activities: Helping prepare for retreats, workshops, spiritual gatherings, and other events.

Our daily life also includes spiritual practices such as yoga, meditation, kirtan, and Vedic philosophy classes. Volunteers are welcome to participate in these activities and experience the spiritual atmosphere of the ashram.

We usually work together, sharing tasks, knowledge, and skills along the way. Adriana and Rodrigo are actively involved in the daily activities and enjoy learning and exchanging experiences with volunteers. Whether you have practical skills in construction, gardening, cooking, or simply enthusiasm and willingness to help, there will be opportunities to contribute.

Our projects and activities vary throughout the year, so flexibility, initiative, and a cooperative attitude are greatly appreciated.

We see volunteering as a mutual exchange: an opportunity to contribute to the development while learning new skills, experiencing a different way of life, connecting with nature, and becoming part of our community.

Este anfitrión ofrece intercambio de idiomas
We offer a multicultural environment where English, Portuguese, and Spanish are spoken. Our Vedic philosophy classes are often taught in English, with simultaneous translation into Portuguese. As our community members come from different countries, there are opportunities to practice and exchange languages in everyday life. However, not everyone speaks all three languages, which makes language exchange a natural and enriching part of our experience.

  • Alojamiento

    Alojamiento

We offer comfortable and secure accommodation in wooden cottages, built by ourselves with care and dedication. The cottages are surrounded by nature and provide a simple, peaceful environment in harmony with rural life.

The bedrooms are shared with other volunteers (two people per room), and bathrooms are also shared, with hot water available. As we are located in a rural area, guests should be aware of the natural conditions and potential risks associated with countryside living.

We provide three vegetarian meals a day, prepared with care, often using Ayurvedic spices and fresh ingredients. We eat together as a community at scheduled times, sharing meals and enjoying the opportunity to connect.

Life is simple and community-oriented, and we encourage our volunteers to participate in this shared daily routine.
