My time at Kerry and Martins was something special. Their home and it's surroundings are just breathtaking. Kerry and Martin are kind, funny, compassionate, welcoming and lovely people which really made me feel at home and comfortable living in their space. The work was completely manageable - I did a lot of weeding, helping in the garden,
… read more painting, hanging out laundry on the clothes line, dusting and cleaning windows and bookshelves, etc. I was often helping Kerry while another workawayer helped with more laborious work but my tasks suited me well. I found the surrounding nature and the village to be so very quaint and peaceful. Kerry and Martin introduced us to neighbors and took us to a village memorial ceremony. They really make an effort to be involved in their community and I found that very admirable. Although the weather was rainy off and on, I did get the opportunity to swim in the pool and that made me so so happy. Something I really loved was eating our meals together most days. Kerry and Martin are wonderful cooks and I'm so grateful to them for taking such good care of me.

Where do I start with this experience, Kerry and Martin were the best hosts I could have asked for and exceeded all expectations I had. I stayed with them for 2 weeks and loved every bit, from chatting over dinners in the evening to working with the very entertaining Martin on the refurb of their loft space. … read more property is out in the country side, Kerry took me to some beautiful spots both in-land and along the coastline on my free days so I really got a feel for this part of France. I had my own space for downtime (a beautiful room overlooking the county-side and village) but they are such good company and great conversationalists, I preferred spending time with them anyway! Georgie was a fabulous workaway at Laborde and we loved having her stay with us. Always willing to help with any chore, however big or small and not afraid to tackle gardening and DIY projects with a smile. A joy to have around and we cannot recommend her highly enough.
We wish her every success in the next exciting chapter for her back in the UK.

Kingsley & Helen were perfect workaways to work alongside us at Maison Leborde. Their hard work, gardening skills & can do attitude, enabled us to make progress with both the DIY project in the house & the never ending weeding & cutting back in the garden.

After a very hot summer in France we finished our workaway season with Kerry and Martin.
We can honestly say that they are the loveliest and most generous people and live in an absolutely gorgeous house on the edge of the village, which meant there was some interaction with the locals where Kerry and Martin both spoke fantastic French! We had
… read more alot in common so there was never a shortage of conversation and shared experiences.
Our work consisted mainly of gardening, weeding, chopping down brambles and tidying up overgrown areas, as well as some help with DIY. Unfortunately we were only there for 8 days, and sooooo wish it had been longer it would have been great to do more around their beautiful property.
They were such thoughtful and caring hosts, insisting we didn't work too many hours per day and also insisting that we had a break mid way through our 8 days, so we did!
We also did a couple of yoga practices together before breakfast which was a great way to start the day.
We had full use of the pool and were able to have our own time if needed as we had very well appointed accommodation, with sofa's, TV and DVD player, tea-making facilities and fridge, WiFi etc.

Kerry and Martin provideded me with such a lovely experience. They are beyond kind and their property is gorgeous, I am still showing friends and family my photos from my trip. They continually made the place feel like home while I was there.
