We live in scenic north canterbury on a large dairy farm beside the Hurunui River. We are one hours drive north of Christchurch city, very easy to locate and forty minutes from Hanmer a popular tourist area. We have hosted many different tourists and regularly host French university students for three months for their internship and have always enjoyed meeting and learning from others. We have six permanent staff on our dairy farm, four Filipino families and two kiwis with both female and male employees. We have a great friendly enjoyable team working environment and encourage lots of social activities to experience as much as possible during your stay. We have five young adult children all working away from home around New Zealand and a friendly young dog Max, who is our replacement child!.

Learn about the New Zealand dairy farming system with all cows outside all year round. Rural community life and the mix of nationalities in our community provide a great cultural experience in a very friendly home.

General farm help can include following cows in for milking which happens twice a day, weed spraying, help with summer irrigation, collecting firewood, general garden maintenance. We care about looking after a sustainable environment.

We have a modern, warm comfortable home with fantastic views of the surrounding countryside. Accommodation is in our home with own bathroom facilities. Internet is available throughout our home.
Driving skills an advantage. We have a great location for cycling, hiking, mountain biking, fishing, kayaking, swimming and many outdoor activities. We are close to Hanmer Springs a popular tourist thermal pools area and near vineyards in the Waipara region.
