Kathryn was with us for almost 3 weeks. She settled in very quickly, was always friendly, helpful and very hardworking. During her time with us, she refurbished and painted an old bench, for example, and it turned out very nicely. We now have this as a memento of her :) It was very nice to have Kathryn with us and we can wholeheartedly recommend

My stay with Ulrike and Hans was absolutely wonderful. They are amazing people who made me feel welcomed in their house the minute I arrived. During the 7 weeks I stayed with them, I worked in various tasks such as gardening, flower planting, painting, organizing spaces, assembling furniture etc. I had so much fun while doing those tasks. Our time at this project was wonderful all around. It was our first Workaway stay and we couldn't have asked for a better experience! Ulrike and Hans are a lovely couple and we loved spending time with them. They made us feel at home from the beginning. Their open-mindedness, warmth and generosity helped us settle in extremely quickly. Initially,
… read more we planned to stay for two weeks, but we loved it so much that we extended our stay by another two weeks. The daily routine was loosely structured and we were always asked what we would like to do. We were continuously encouraged to share our own ideas and suggestions on projects. We learnt a lot about gardening, planting, herbs, building structures with natural stones and much more. Our accomodation was world-class and the rural surroundings are peaceful and offer spectacular landscapes. The Baltic Sea is a short bicycle/bus ride away. Public transport is easily accessible. Hans and Ulrike’s House is an interesting project. I stayed with other workaway volunteers in a Lovely two bedroom accommodation. It was large and brand new and we where the first to stay in it! We worked together and got to know each other.I stayed with a volunteer from Brazil. The food was great with breakfast and lunch with the host, and dinner
… read more with volunteers in the volunteers’ residence. They have really nice bikes for their guests; these were really great fun and where not to be missed. This area is like Holland at sea level and near the seaside towns with lush greenery everywhere and has the cleanest air! I understand I was one of their first volunteers. Hans and Ulrike are friendly and inclusive with the working processes. They accepted my request to work when I was near-by at another host. There is much going on. The work was interesting and in a lovely environment with countryside all around and grazing horses about the place for the summer. I was able to learn about using carpentry power tools and other areas to hone new skills. Observing crafts persons going about their work on the place. I would recommend it to workawayers. Christian was with us for 2 weeks. He has a lot of experience in handling wood and sawed the wood for us and created a wood pile. Thank you Christian for your great work!
