    Volunteer

    A Curated Work Exchange for Ceramic Artists & Makers

    The Project welcomes a small number of carefully selected volunteers and Workawayers who are passionate about ceramics, craftsmanship, and slow living. More than a place to stay, This is a working ceramic studio where artists and makers contribute to the development of the residency while deepening their own practice in the Mayan jungle of Tulum.

    Our Vision

    We believe that learning happens through making. By sharing knowledge, maintaining the studio, firing the kiln, and working with clay, volunteers become part of a living project dedicated to ceramics, ecological awareness, and traditional craftsmanship.

    Hosting only one resident artist at a time, this place also welcomes a limited number of ceramic-focused volunteers who help sustain the space and contribute to its ongoing evolution.

    Who We’re Looking For

    We welcome applications from people with an interest in:

    * Ceramics and pottery
    * Wood-fired kilns
    * Clay preparation and processing
    * Studio maintenance
    * Traditional craft techniques
    * Ceramic photography and documentation
    * Ceramic education and research

    Previous ceramic experience is appreciated but not always required. Curiosity, responsibility, and a willingness to learn are essential.

    What You’ll Do

    Depending on the season and ongoing projects, volunteers may assist with:

    * Preparing clay and studio materials
    * Kiln loading, firing, and maintenance
    * Studio organization and cleaning
    * Garden and natural landscape care around the studio
    * Documentation through photography and video
    * Assisting resident artists when appropriate
    * Helping improve the residency facilities

    Every task contributes to the growth of an independent ceramic residency rooted in craftsmanship and respect for nature.

    What We Offer

    * Jungle accommodation
    * Access to the ceramic studio during free time
    * Opportunities to learn traditional firing techniques
    * Mentorship and knowledge exchange
    * A quiet natural environment
    * A chance to become part of an international community of ceramic artists

    How to Apply

    We’re looking for people who genuinely want to contribute to the life of the studio.

    To apply, send us:

    * A short introduction
    * Your experience with ceramics or craft (if any)
    * Your preferred dates
    * Why you’d like to join this place

    Each application is reviewed individually to ensure a good fit for both the applicant and the residency.

    A Shared Practice

    This place is built through collaboration, generosity, and respect for the creative process. Every volunteer helps preserve a space where clay, fire, and nature come together, allowing artists from around the world to slow down, experiment, and create meaningful work.

    Volunteer Opportunities

    * Kiln Operations — Assisting with wood preparation, kiln loading, firings, and routine maintenance.
    * Studio Care — Maintaining tools, equipment, and shared creative spaces.
