My stay was great in so many ways! let's start with the people aspect.
Deej is a great host and I really appreciate that clear and honest communication is valued and appreciated. Deej is flexible in appointments when you communicate well and show good will and flexibility yourself. I found Deej very willing to share great things to see or do in
… read more the neighborhood and I also wanna thank Deej for the wonderful thoughts and insights they shared on both life in general and the world of arts.
The work was very diverse and I really loved that we as workawayers were granted a lot of trust around the work. Taking initiative and suggesting ideas is also appreciated. I worked on building a window in an old stone cottage, helping with work in the garden like weeding and planting out seedlings, and helped with organizing a music and live performance event. For this event I helped with the digital marketing (as it is my profession) with social media promotion, META advertisements, designed posters and hang them in stores in the neighborhood villages, and helped with building up the stage and some crowd control on the evening itself.
I'm also really happy that I was there during a residency which made it possible for me to meet a bunch of amazing artists who really felt like friends after a week. Great conversations took place just randomly during the day or during the shared dinners that shaped organically.
i would definitely recommend a stay at the arts center. It changed my life and left some lasting memories. thank you Deej!!

Ilan is a quiet and thoughtful person who was happy to help on any task set for him. He is interested in fluid dynamics and can explain aspects of engineering in lay persons language. I spent 3 wonderful weeks at the house. We mainly did, with the other workawayers, some gardening and DIY tasks which consisted of removing the roots from the old raised bed and preparing the soil for planting seeds. We also do some tasks in the house to help Deej prepare the house to welcome the artists. We worked 4 days a week for 5 hours, the

Deej, our host, was really welcoming and accommodating. She also has a great knowledge about art and Irish culture, so it was a pleasure to share interesting conservations on those subjects. She has two very nice dogs, Ziggy and Sina and one cat who love to be cuddle. The house is located in the countryside so it could be difficult to visit place around without a car, however Deej is very accomodating and can take you to the nearest towns if you ask.
To conclude, it was my first workaway and I spent a great time with Deej and the other workawayers. I recommend this place to anyone who wants to share a unique experience at the House.
Thanks a lot for the this worderful moment !Comentarios

We stayed with Deej for 5 weeks between the end of March and the end of April. We have been the first wokawayers to ever stay here so it was a new experience for Deej as well and we all had to get used to the situation a bit. However, we can only recommend staying with her to every workawayer out there!
We worked 4 days a week for around 5 hours
… read more - sometimes a bit less, sometimes a bit more - depending on what had to be done that day. Our main task was clean out, fork through and weed the old raised beds, with the goal of getting them ready to be planted with herbs and vegetables. Additionally we also helped with maintenance and organisational tasks in the house like moving and organizing the toolroom, the laundry room or ripping out old flooring (which was more fun than it sounds!).
Work could be hard and especially when working in the garden you would sometimes end up with a little bit of backpain but it was never overwhelming and we were able to see our immense progress in the garden when we planted the first veggies.
Deej is an artist and you can have interesting talks with her about art in general, artists and especially her area: performance art. Because she has a lot of things to handle everyday, her plans change a lot from day to day and you have to be a little spontaneous. We can just recommend to simply ask her about the plan.
She is a very nice person and we usually ate one meal a day together with her. She always made sure that we have enough groceries to cook with and asked us about our preferences. Deej also likes to cook with incredients from around the house and she made us nettle pesto which was absolutely amazing!
Along with her you will get to know her pandemic puppy (Ziggy), her rescue dog (Sina) and her granny cat (Olive) who are all very sweet and cuddly pets.
On Saturdays Radek and Sarah help with the work in the garden. Both are amazing people with who we loved to chat. They were very kind to us and always asked us if we are doing alright and have everything we need.
Overall we had a fantastic time and will miss everyone a lot.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.

Isy & Toni were an amazing asset to our centre whilst they were here for the past month. They helped mainly with getting the raised beds in the vegetable garden ready for vegetables and then planting seeds and seedlings. This entailed digging, forking collecting manure and barrowing away the briar that had taken over the garden. They also helped

Toni is an excellent organiser and she helped with organising the towels and bed linen in the Laundry and with putting up signs to help us all keep the place running smoothly. Isy worked happily on any task she was asked to do and she brought a calm freindly presence to the centre. I miss them already - They are both beautiful humans.
They also pitched in with cooking on a regular basis and made some lovely dishes on the last day Isy made scones with another workawayer and she even made some gluten free ones for me. Thank you both

Futaba was a great help here working in the vegetable garden and helping with some DIY tasks in the Arts centre in order to start getting a room together that can accommodate a disabled artist. I only stayed for one week, but I thoroughly enjoyed my time working. We did gardening and some DIY tasks, such as digging soil to create a field and transplanting roots. Additionally, we tidied up rooms in the main house and cleared debris from the floor. Despite the physical demands, the four-day workweek made it manageable.
The two dogs and

We even made scones and enjoyed them in the spacious yard on our day off. Deej treated us to a meal at a restaurant and entrusted us with walking her dogs. Her vegetarian cooking, whether for lunch or dinner, was delicious, and she made sure to provide food that catered to our preferences. I never got bored with the meals, thanks to her thoughtful provisions. Thank you immensely for such a wonderful experience.Solo puedes ponerte en contacto con workawayers con membresías activas.
