  I'm Sofia, we are located in San Cristobal de Las Casas. It is apart from my home, is an rental specialised in art and culture. It is also a cultural space, which is sometimes open for events such as workshops and exhibitions. Every Sunday there are film screenings (documentaries, cult films, independent films, silent films, etc,), the sessions are on the terrace of the house or in the living room, both extraordinary environments to watch and enjoy films.
  I do the programming myself, since I studied film programming, so selecting the films is for me an exercise of reflection and research, as well as discovery and interest.
  On the walls of the houseI set up exhibitions, product of research, where we open the house to lovers and curious of art and culture. For example, the exhibition "Montuy, the 4th Muralist", a project that dates from 3 years of independent research, and that volunteers who came from Work-away and other... Helped me to land (and we did 2 exhibitions!). The first one in the casa itself, and the second one we launched it in a public gallery.
  
  Now I need the help of a person to co-edit a 60 minutes documentary, that I will be making this year, with documentary material that I collected, the documentary is about the life and work of a prominent Mexican muralist (Montuy). I have been researching about him for the last 3 years. And I have 12 minutes of a teaser. For this the workawayer will work 4 hours a day, 5 days a week, editing on a Mac mini, with a 4K monitor. The program where I edit is FinalCut, the remaining hour he will be able to help at home. What I provide is a private room on the terrace, full bathroom downstairs, hot water, pantry consisting of vegetables, fruits, oatmeal, beans, tortillas, eggs, sugar, flour, oils, spices, pasta, coffee, teas, electro-pure water, lentils. The workawayer will be able to prepare his/her lunch, breakfast and dinner, every day, according to what he/she wants, with the ingredients that we provide, the kitchen is fully equipped, the stove is gas and is new with 6 burners. The minimum time of stay of the workawayer is 1 more that can be extended to a maximum of 3 months, according to productivity capacity, enthusiasm and performance in the house. The last workawayers I had one stayed 5 months and another 7 months. These very long stays were beautiful but interrupt the flow of volunteers and made the house change its goals, which were being redefined this year.
  Washing machine to wash clothes once a week (including detergents), hot water for showers, high speed wifi and spaces for rest and leisure like the terrace, the living room, etc. The house is six minutes from the central park, in the center, in an excellent and picturesque neighborhood, the house has a view of the mountains, the skyline of the city and churches. And the big supermarkets are 13 minutes away, walking distance, grocery stores 2-3 mins away. In the house there are art, cinema and culture books everywhere, lithographs, paintings and reproductions and many many plants, although we do not have a garden. The house is equipped with everything and has a big kitchen and a large garage.
  
  I am relatevely new to the city, having just completed a year and a half of living in San Cristobal, after returning to Mexico recently and I would like to bring a vibrant space in this part of Mexico. Now I am going through a period of finding my space, since all my friends are in spread in other parts of the world, I work from Monday to Friday in a refereed scientific journal which is a big responsibility, so I would love you to have your own initiative on how you can contribute and how we can contribute to you, but without having to pay too much attention to give you too many indications, since I am a person who has many occupations and who also needs to have his own space. I love cooking (if I have time), cycling, hikings or trekking, swimming, going to cafes, bars, watching movies, but most of all meeting empathetic, vibrant and interesting people.   The volunteers will feel at home, in a calm, relaxed and family environment, we are very good hosts, we like to keep an eye on people and make their lives easier and more pleasant, we are also good at cooking, talking , to go out on weekends to the indigenous towns or to nature, I can give you guided tours of the museums that are around here, we can make roast meats on the terrace or on a piece of land that I have in the countryside. There are many books in the house, and we also put on a movie on a projector once a week.
  
  Los voluntarios se sentirán como en su propia casa, en un ambiente tranquilo, relajado y en familia, somos muy buenos anfitriones, nos gusta estar pendiente de la gente y hacerles la vida mas fácil y placentera, también somos buenos para la cocina, para platicar, para salir los fines de semana a los pueblos indígenas o a la naturaleza, puedo darte visitas guiadas los museos que hay por acá, podemos hacer carnes asadas en la terraza o en un terreno que tengo en la campiña. En la casa hay muchos libros, y también ponemos cine en un proyector una vez a la semana.

  The place where you are going to reside is the same house that has 4 levels, a garage, a solarium-type terrace, 6 rooms, a large kitchen, chimney, several bathrooms, and a beautiful roof with view to the whole city.

  With your free time you can go to the many natural parks that are near San Cristobal (Arcotete, Rancho Nuevo, Parque Encuentro, Caves del Mamut), or go on a tour to Palenque (the mayan city), the Cañon del Sumidero, the Montebello Lakes, the Waterfalls del Chiflón, Las Nubes, La "Selva" (or at least what is left of it)... there are many beautiful and impressive natural places near San Cristobal de Las Casas; Going to the tours is already on your own, but if you like I can accompany you to some (because I don't know all of them). You can get to know the indigenous peoples and the uses and customs of the indigenous people, about night life: you can go to bars or cafes on weekends or go to funky places or with sui generis livemusic.
  
  Con tu tiempo libre puedes ir a los muchos parques que hay cerca de San Cristobal (Arcotete, Rancho Nuevo, Parque Encuentro, Rutas del Mamut), o irte de tour a Palenque, el Cañon del Sumidero, Los Lagos de Montebello, Las Cascadas del Chiflón, Las Nubes, La "Selva" (o al menos lo que queda de ella)... hay muchos lugares naturales hermosos e impresionantes cerca de San Cristobal de Las Casas; ir a los tour ya es por tu cuenta, pero si gustas te puedo acompañar a algunos (pues no conozco todos). Puedes conocer los pueblos indigenas y los usos y costumbres de los indigenas, iría a los bares o cafés los fines de semana o irte a algún lugar de música funk o sui generis.
