  A little lost paradise in south Cambodia needs your help!
  
  We are situated on Pak Klang beach in Koh Kong province, just 8 km away from the border with Thailand.
  From March 2020 my husband (Thibault )and I (Marija)made our dream come true by opening a small guesthouse with a few beach huts and a bar / restaurant on the beach itself. . Our goal is to make our guests feel like home, and since we live on the land as well we like to make everyone feel as part of the family. We try to be innovative and always bring new ideas to the project, and we are very open to new ideas from a different perspective such as yours!
  
  The neighborhood is peaceful; you will be surrounded by mostly small restaurants owned by very lovely locals.
  There is a local fisherman village and market just 10 min bike ride away from us. We are 10km away from the city and it is reachable by scooter that you can easily rent from somebody for cheap.

  Take this chance to get to learn more about the Khmer culture by living among the locals. There is a lot to learn from their history and their life philosophy. Personally, that changed the way we see life. The Khmer are the warmest people I have met. Here you will get to meet a lot of travelers too; all having a unique story to share, and an opportunity for a lot of friendships to be made. We love learning languages too, we speak English, French, Macedonian, Croatian, Bulgarian and a bit of Spanish so if you speak or wish to learn any of these languages it would be a pleasure to exchange knowledge. In addition to that we like to do DIY projects to create anything from decorative objects to chairs and tables, so if you are feeling crafty it would be lot of fun. By helping us you would learn about business management as well. We would love to find a way to help the community as much as possible therefor any help will be greatly appreciated by the locals too.

  We are seeking a proactive and capable individual to join our team as a volunteer from July 7th to August 10th, assisting our house and pet sitter during a quiet period at our beachfront property. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys hands-on tasks, is comfortable in a serene environment, and has a genuine appreciation for animals.
  
  As a volunteer, you will play a vital role in maintaining the beauty and security of our property. Your responsibilities will include:
  
  1.Beach and Property Maintenance: Keeping the beach and surrounding areas tidy, which involves raking sand and removing any washed-up debris, particularly plastic.
  
  2.Groundskeeping: Caring for our plants by watering as needed and managing wild grass and fallen leaves.
  
  3.Sanitation: Ensuring the shared bathroom facilities remain clean and well-maintained.
  
  4.Property Upkeep and Repairs: This role requires someone who is adept at using tools and takes ownership of ensuring the property remains in good repair by addressing any issues promptly.
  
  5.Animal Well-being: Keeping a watchful eye on our two friendly dogs, a cat (who all reside indoors with our caretaker), and two chickens. While dog walking is not required, engaging with them on the beach for exercise and play is encouraged. Ensuring the chickens are safe within their coop during inclement weather and monitoring them while they free-roam.
  
  6.Additional Tasks: There may be opportunities for small projects such as repainting, creating signs, or assisting with decorative tasks.
  
  In exchange for flexible hours of daily assistance, you will be accommodated in a private beachfront bungalow with a beautiful sea view. The bungalow includes a fan and electricity, and you will have access to a shared bathroom with hot water. Please note that the resort will be closed to the public during your stay, offering a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere.
  
  The presence of two people on the property, especially overnight, is important for security. While the area is generally very safe, a consistent presence helps deter any potential unwanted attention.
  
  We provide one meal per day, which you will either prepare yourself or coordinate with our caretaker. We will also provide funds to cover the cost of ingredients or for ordering from nearby establishments.
  
  To ensure a smooth handover, we require your arrival on July 7th. This will allow for a full week of orientation and familiarization with the property and tasks.
  
  Please note that we are only accepting applications from solo travelers at this time.
  
  If you are a self-motivated, resourceful individual who doesn't mind getting their hands dirty, is unfazed by tropical weather, enjoys the company of animals, and appreciates a quiet coastal setting, we would love to hear from you!
  
  Please note that we get lots of requests every day and we try to be as responsive as possible, but we go through messages for the following month first and answer requests for later months a bit later so sometimes we take a few days to respond, thank you for your patience!

  Since we are located on the beach itself there is nothing better than a relaxing beach time for your time off. If you are more of a sportive person the Cardamom mountains offer you trekking in the jungle. You can explore the waterfall, do a boat trip in the mangroves, go for a day in Koh Kong island . Koh Kong has a lush nature from mangroves,waterfalls, the mountains and the beach it is a heaven for nature lovers.
