Hello! My name is Shyam and I am the CEO, founder and president of this organisation. The organisation was founded in 2012, registered with the Registrar of Societies Malaysia and is one of the most successful non profit organisation in Malaysia focusing on ending homelessness and uplifting marginalised communities in our focus areas. We're seeking motivated volunteers to join us as we establish our farm from the ground up. This is a unique opportunity to be part of something special from the very beginning. Be prepared for hard work, sweat, and the immense satisfaction of creating a thriving agricultural space.

    Schedule:

    Accommodation:
mix quad bunk bed with shared bathroom/toilet.

Meals - combination of self prepare and community cooking

Location: Our farm is situated in Ampang.
Language: We primarily communicate in English.
    Amenities
Bus stop, self service laundry, restaurants & grocery store are all 5 mins away.

What we're looking for in a volunteer:
High Level of Discipline & Structure: You thrive in a structured environment and can manage your time effectively.
Independent Worker: You're comfortable working independently and following a set schedule.
Strong Work Ethic: You're not afraid of hard work and take pride in a job well done.
Team Player: While independent work is key, you're also happy to collaborate and contribute to a positive team atmosphere.
Positive Attitude: You bring a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn.
This is a fantastic opportunity for those who enjoy a challenge and want to be a part of building something special. If you're a self-motivated individual who thrives in a structured environment, we encourage you to apply!
We enjoy work life balance but also value our home space and volunteers who understands that this is a professional space are welcome to apply. While we value our volunteers, we will also not hesitate to expel any volunteers who break the law, the rules & policies of the organisation, who lack discipline and who are not serious about your time here.

    Expectations for volunteers
Please only enquire if you have taken all the necessary steps to keep yourself safe and are fully COVID vaccinated (we may need proof of vaccination). We have a strict safety policy, and we look for helpers who are mature, professional, proactive and able to learn quickly and follow instructions. As an NGO we really seek people who will have added value and wont need too much guidance! Discipline and respect are the key words here so if they don’t describe you then please give this a pass. Your behaviour influences a lot of the local people's ideas about the western world so we ask you to be sensitive to local culture and customs. You must have a broad mind for cultural differences as we work with people with all kinds of backgrounds.

    ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY
    - We have a curfew from midnight to 7am.
    - Volunteers are required to cover their knees and shoulders at all time. Female volunteers, please wear your bras.
    - No drugs, no smoking and no alcohol allowed in the house (including medicinal marijuana).
    - No footwear allowed inside including indoor slippers.

Please apply only if you are professional, culturally sensitive, respectful, have the ability to adhere to a routine, timetable & structure to tasks, can be with minimum supervision, mature and discipline orientated.

    The work that we do
We are a local registered non-profit NGO on the outskirts of Kuala Lumpur and are looking for some volunteers to help. The NGO works in the local community to support vulnerable and marginalised groups including the elderly and disabled, children with special needs, refugees amongst others. We focus on social innovation and aim to create sustainable solutions for individuals and households so that they can be self-sufficient. Experience working in the sector is a bonus but not a requirement, however, it is critical that rules and guidelines are strictly followed when working with all beneficiaries who must be treated with respect, dignity, and compassion.

    What else…
Above anything else, we seek to help the people around us and to do that to a high standard we must be a cohesive, friendly and generous group of individuals who share the common goal of helping other people – and animals!
