Support with child minding and cooking needed

****We're currently looking for someone with experience with young children , between 1-3year olds. Someone to help out alongside me, the mum, with our other 2 older children in our loving energetic home, experiencing life in rural but characterful west of Ireland.

We are an active and high energy outdoors loving family of five! Becca is a mother and a teacher as well as a lover of yoga, meditation, aware parenting (gentle and conscious parenting approach) and to be outdoors immersed in nature. Richie is a father and a civil engineer as well as a rock climber, surfer, tree planter and cyclist. Rua is a curious and fun loving boy of eight years old, he is highly sensitive and very energetic - because of this he needs encouragement to channel his energy outdoors and engage in physical activity. His happy place is in the water, swimming and surfing, rain or shine! Once Rua has expelled his energy he is also enjoys quiet time drawing, building lego, imaginary play or reading books. This rhythm of outdoor physical activity followed by a calming activity indoors is a really important in regulating his system. Rua attends the local Steiner Waldorf Primary School.
Seamus a kind and considerate five year old boy who loves cooking, imaginative play, being outside in nature, reading books and building dens and Lego . Seamus attends an outdoor nature based, self directed learning community during school hours .
Finn is an outgoing, yet sensitive 1 year old, with bundles of character and a love of being out and about taking in the colours, sounds and people that he meets. He's sociable, smiley, loves cuddles and loves sitting around the dinner table for our daily meals. He can now walk and loves to be outside more than anything else, exploring the magic of the world around him.
As a family we love adventuring in the great outdoors, climbing trees/rocks/walls getting wet and muddy in the woods, exploring rock pools or roaming rocky landscapes in the Burren.

Our parenting philosophy in the home is based on conscious parenting, which fundamentally is about creating connection not control and looking at our own triggers rather than punitive style parenting. If they are having difficulty following instructions or listening to a request then instead of trying to control the behaviour or use punishments/rewards we use connection and empathy. We see the home as place of refuge for them, the world can be a harsh place so therefore we aspire to create a place of safety in the home, where they feel safe, seen and soothed. We see All behavior as communication - if a child is 'misbehaving' we look at what they are trying to communicate, what is it they need? In other words we try not to make them feel 'bad or shamed' but see the behavior as an unmet need. We encourage our children to fully release and express the rainbow of emotions that come with being human, home is their safe place to let out all of their 'big feelings' and never to be shamed for expressing sadness, anger or tears.

It's important for people to note that our family is a busy noisy home with 3 young children and there is plenty of energy that we aim to release in positive and exciting ways. This might take the the form of walks/scrambles through the countryside/woodlands or wild play where we scramble around the floor as clumsy monsters to help the boys get their energy out before winding down to bed. We try to use exercise and high energy activities, as well as quiet time and relaxing on the couch with games and books, in order to create connection with our children and to follow the natural rhythms that we experience as humans!

Our house is on the outskirts of the lively market of Ennistymon which has plenty of shops, cafes, bars and entertainment options. We're about 8 minutes from Lahinch where there is a renowned surf beach, as well as a great leisure centre. We're about 10 mins drive from the UNESCO site of the Cliffs of Moher and 20 mins from Burren National Park, with endless hiking and walking opportunities.

The room for work away is more like a little bedside, with en-suite, L shaped couch and tv and walk in wardrobe area. It’s in a quiet section from the home, perfect for quiet time and chill time which is always respected when we have people come to live with us.

As we are requesting someone to come and help me out with the children, mainly to help out with Finn our youngest so I can be more present when rua and seamus come from school, to give them the attention and connection they need it would be invaluable to have someone to help out with Finn. We would need reference from a job working with children and also a police vetting cert too.
Another part of our request would be help with cooking during the week. So someone who enjoys cooking is preferable too. Oh we have 2 friendly
    Cats too

We aim to give our workawayers the opportunity to explore the beautiful part of the world we live in as part of their stay with us. There are many local groups with people that go climbing, surfing, learning Irish, playing a variety of music including traditional Irish instruments, go foraging in nature, free diving, fishing and hiking the many coastal or Burren trails in our locality.

Our family enjoys meals together daily and would welcome any guest into our home and family. We would like to share the experience of living on the wild west coast or Ireland, were the stunning natural world offers many opportunities for adventure and learning.

One of the unique aspects of our community is that there is a really beautiful mix of locals and many "blows-ins" people from all around Ireland, Europe and the world! This offers plenty of opportunities to engage with and form connections in the community.

We are looking for someone to come and help us help out with the children, mainly the youngest Finn. Help in the home so it frees Becca up to have time with Rua and Seamus after school hours. We share the domestic responsibilities, such as cooking. Cleaning is done weekly by cleaner but and tidying after meals and general tidy up daily is something we all work on as a team and expect the work away to do this too. It is something we try to keep on top of daily so that it doesn't become a bigger job

It's important that we would have someone that is comfortable with young children and babies. Someone kind and empathetic, preferably someone who’s interested in child development and in general enjoys playfulness and having fun with children. Understanding they’re developmental needs and having realistic expectations of what to expect from them at their age.

Ideally we would have someone with a full driving license and we will provide a vehicle for you to use during your stay allowing the freedom to explore our beautiful part of the world on your own time. Time to enjoy your own hobbies and build your own experience outside our family is important too. You are here for your travels so we appreciate that.

Our house is a spacious, comfortable, clean and light filled space. The bedroom for our work away person is private and spacious, has its own walk in wardrobe space, a large desk and a shower room. We have a large garden which is currently a blank canvas and we hope to spend more time working on as the children getting older. Our plan down the line is to get a polytunnel, chickens and get our hands dirty planting trees and creating wild flower garden.
