We are boutique hostel in Mexico City. Opened in 2019 with the mission of being a safe place in mexico city for travellers to connect and from here explore this amazing city. We love creating experiences for travelers to enhance connection with locals and with mexican culture. The staff is friendly, and laid back but is also very firm in its values of offering excellent service that distinguishes us from the rest of the hostels.

Our hostel is a beautifully designed space, with a fully equipped kitchen, two common areas to chill, hangout, watch movies or take part in the activities we plan.

We want to create intimate moments for our guests to connect, learn, share and grow amongst each other. Our space attracts an interesting group of individuals who are either working from Mexico City on their corporate jobs, travelling away from a life they are looking to change or simply testing out the city to see if they want to move here. This creates a community that is eager to connect, to explore but also that see travel as a moment to grow more than simply let go.
It is nurturing for everyone being able to share knowledge and talents. We love when hosts & guests have something to share with others, like music, or cooking their local food.

We are NOT a party hostel but enjoy the occasional celebration, creation of craft cocktails, local mezcal or beer tastings... We appreciate innitiative from volunteers and are really looking forward to having you collaborate with us and get to know our amazing city and culture at the same time.

We are located in Colonia Condesa, one of the hippest districts in Mexico City. It has an artsy, bohemian and friendly feel. Along with its neighbor, “La Roma”, it offers most of the gastronomic and cultural scene of the city, making it a great place to walk around, find a nice coffee shop near Parque Mexico or a restaurant with delicious food and great atmosphere. It is also known as the hipster quarter, so it calls for a younger and more cosmopolite crowd. The nightlife is so diverse you could either grab some drinks at a funky pub, rock at a live concert or simply bar hop all night. Its location makes it easy to get to most of the main sights and the city center. Grab the subway, a bike or an uber and get there in a flash.

Staff is family. We are a small team of 8 people working in the hostel and if you resonate with our values, we would love to have you on the team.

We are looking to collaborate with seasoned travelers that align with our values - to help us explore and evolve what it means to stay in a hostel. Many people know a hostel to be social through its happy hour at the bar, sporadically confusing events and the one off outing an incredibly keen guest wants to organize. We’re looking to take this a bit further. We want to create intimate moments for our guests to connect, learn, share and grow amongst each other.

Help we need goes from covering reception shifts, planning of activities for guest connection and event coordination. Sometimes things get hectic and we might also need help with the cleaning and the watering of plants.

    Your Role:
As the resident host, you will act as the glue that connects our team, our guests and the city. While you are not from here - we’re looking for those who find pleasure in searching for authentic spots, who enjoy connecting people together and that have an innate aptitude to create safe spaces for others to speak, feel comfortable and exchange.

The goal with the role is firstly to help us develop a stronger sense of community within the hostel and developing the atmosphere that aligns with our type of guest. On the other hand, it is also to turn the activities and community moments you develop into permanent experiences that we continue organising over the years (i.e we had a host that organize supperclub style dinners and we do these every Sunday - Family Dinner)

In case you have a musical or artistic talent, it is welcome to be shared in the space and with the people! Cooking, singing, playing, photography, painting...

Responsibilities (divided in 25 hrs per week):
    - Organize 3 to 4 community gathering activities during the week that bring the guests together and help us build an atmosphere within the hostel.
    - Lead the communications and bridge the conversation between the hostel and the guest. Our channels are mainly Whatsapp Group and Instagram. We’d like for you to answer questions, promote upcoming events, share what is happening in the city and sporadically organize spontaneous activities.
    - Support our reception team to gather sign ups, money and make any request for payments to our guests
    - Keep our stories on Instagram updated showcasing the community experience in the hostel
    - Serve breakfast 2 to 3 times a week, making sure all ingredients are refilled, the kitchen area is kept clean and you are connecting with guest
    - Support our reception team with 2 shifts (morning and evening) - welcoming guest, checking them in, checking them out

    Experience needed:
    - Speak moderate level of Spanish, and interest in learning
    - Curious of finding the beating heart of cities through whatever medium you like the most.
    - Have a worked in hospitality in the past or in a job that is people facing
    - Experience in running group activities or events - cooking, yoga, performances, music, games, etc
    - Computer skills and basic knowledge in excel

In their time off, volunteers can get to know Mexico City, ride the subway to the city center, visit beautiful museums, take a trip to the pyramids of Teotihuacan, walk around the beautiful neighbourhood of Condesa or simply enjoy our common spaces.
The subway is 5 minutes walking distance. We have a beautiful park 15 minutes away with tons of coffee shops and restaurants. Off the beaten path art and food tips which will be recommended upon arrival.

    El Balcón:
This area is specifically designed for our guests. It's a comfortable space where one can work, drink a cup of coffee and read a good book or simply connect with other travellers. It’s the perfect spot to play board games, watch movies or relax after a long day exploring this magical city.

    El Patio:
This urban oasis is where the merge between local and traveler takes place. Each element has a story. Every object and piece of furniture is created by the minds and hands of mexican artists. El Patio is the ideal spot to live unique experiences that will awaken your senses and stimulate your desire to immerse yourself in mexican culture. Experiences may vary from a delicious local cooking class to a fun mezcal tasting. Our kitchen may be used by our guests, to exchange and try out new recipes. This rooftop is the heart of the hostel.
