We are Martijn (42), Karin (41) and Noah (4). We have been living in Álora, Andalucia since november 2020. We have a finca not too far from town and live here with our dog Bamboo and the newest member of the family, Mapache the cat. There is still a lot that needs to happen here. At the moment we mostly need help on the land where we are establishing a food forest. Weeding, preparing sites for planting and more. Quite physical work.

You can experience live on the campo while still being close to a village. The people that live around us are very friendly. There are local fiestas to attend and the village is very lively. You can also meet people from around the world as they pass by and stay at our place. As there is a wide range of choirs and projects to do here you can definitely pick stuff up about gardening, DIY and more. But we are also full on in the learning phase, so we can probably learn as much from you as the other way around! We learn as we go. And you can come along for the ride :)

At the moment we are looking for one, maybe two people to help out. It will be mostly working on the land. We are basically building a new garden/food forest from scratch. All was overgrown when we got here and piece by piece we are working on making it a nice place to wander and chill. At this moment we need a lot of help with weeding. There are some other jobs to be done, but that will be the main thing.
We are asking for three hours of help a day in exchange for the accommodation. You take care of you own food. If you really looking for something that includes food, we could discuss the option of making it 5 hours a day and then giving you €50 a week as compensation for buying food.Idiomas hablados

You will be staying in a 4 person dorm with and airconditioning. The bunk beds are very sturdy and quite luxurious with a high degree of privacy. They have curtains, reading lights and a power plug. We have a small scale hostel with two private rooms and you will be staying in the third room, the dorm.
You don`t need to do any work in the hostel. Of course we do expect you to keep your room and the facilities you use clean as you share it with paying guests. But only in a sense of cleaning up after yourself.Algo más...
Álora is a typical Andalucian white village, but more alive then others. There is a broad choice of restaurants and bars. It´s not overrun with tourist, so you still get a taste of the real Spanish live. We are fairly close (30 minutes by car) to one of the areas biggest attractions, Caminito del Rey. A 2 to 3 hour walk along side cliffs and above the Guadalhorce river. Furthermore there are a lot of hiking trails in the area and the area is popular with cyclists and climbers. Many big cities are within an 2 hour drive. Besides Málaga you can go to Cordoba, Granada, Sevilla or Ronda.
