We have a nursery with more than 60 species (mostly native trees seedling) and a farm where we develop an agroforest system with more than 50 species (fruits, timber, crops...). Me: 38 yo, backpacking since 14, dozens of contries visited, living in Lençóis for 8 years, forestry engeneer, MSc., climber, river, trekking, rock, reggae ´d blues...

Opportunity to know Chapada Diamantina National Park, learn about organic production and agroforest systems, opportunities to do (high quality) rock climbing and trekkings, benefit from tips and advices on tours, places to visit, good guides, etc. be introduced to the locals and local culture and environment. The home/nursery and the farm are located in Chapada Diamantina, city of Lençois, very close to the National Park and surronded by hundresd of waterfalls, dozens of them above 100mts. mountain sports and plants management are routines... Lençóis is a five thousand people city with more than 6 thousand beds for turists. It's historical and quite cosmopolitan city.

Ayuda
Help mainly in the nursery activities (seedlings care and maintenance) and farm activities (plantation, agroforest system management, harvesting, etc), may need help in Bioconstruction (permaculture projects) and teach languages, playing instruments and arts for a smart 5 yo boy.

Bed/couch accommodation or camping . We do not offer food for volunteers, only an open kitchen for cooking, but we use to cook, eat and wash dishes together ;)

Manon is a very nice, proactive and cheerful person. Her stay at the farm was a great help. She is always smiling and willing to help with activities. In addition to working with plants, she helped a lot with the household and day-to-day tasks. I highly recommend her. She is one of the best volunteers I have ever worked with.

I couldn't have thought of better first Workaway experience. Very kind, flexible, chill and welcoming, Diego is such a great host.
I was volunteering with two other workawayers. We had basically 2 types of tasks : helping out in the garden of the house and preparing for/working at Diego's farm.

we staid at Diego's house for our first work away and it was amazing!
we staid in his beautiful house for 2 weeks. we helped in gardening and then we went to his field to plant.

I spent about ten days at Diego house and I really enjoyed my stayed. I took care of the plant nursery, helped in the kitchen and lost a lot of chess games against Theo… At first I couldn’t be so useful in the plant nursery because of the rain, but I still felt very welcome :)

I had a short but nice stay at Diego's place! Enough to discover the farm and learn a bit more about agroforestry. The work is very chill and Theo his son is a really nice boy!
Also, because he couldnt host me as long as it was planned, Diego helped me to find another volunteering place to stay in Lencois!

Diego is a ver lovely man and welcomes you into his home with a smile. There is a really beautiful community feeling. The work is very chilled but nice as you get to learn about plants and trees a little. We all cooked together and shared the chores. It was a very happy few days. Thankyou Diego and i recommend people to volunteer with him. Julia
