    Descripción

An emerging ecovillage outside of Georgetown, Guyana. Carlos the founder, left his fashion career in New York to return to his homeland and transform 1 acres of his family's land into an ecovillage. The property already has various fruit trees, a vegetable garden, a main villa and several glamping structures. The ecovillage will be built around 3 main principles: eco education for locals, self-sufficiency, and spiritual growth. Future plans of the ecovillage include a fashion district where artisans make eco-friendly clothing, a photography/music/media editing studio, and a market. We are officially open!

This is a great opportunity to connect with Guyanan land, and be situated right outside of Georgetown. Interact with Carlos, who was born in Georgetown, left Guyana to pursue fashion design in New York, and returned to his family land to connect with his Guyanan roots.

  • Ayuda

    Ayuda

The most important help for the village right now is building and gardening. The current project involves building more glamping A-frame tents and expanding the main villa, as well as harvesting fruit and expanding the vegetable garden with permaculture techniques. This is what exchangers can expect to learn during their time.
