Descripción
Located at the northern end of the village of Perwenitz very close to Berlin, surrounded by fields and avenues, my husband and me found this old village mill and decided to create something withit.
My husband, Juergen, who worked in theater equipment and trade fair construction, began using the ground floor of the mill for a metal and wood workshop, while me (Gudrun) , a visual artist, moved into the first floor as a studio.

A dream began with wonderful summers and drafty winters, with changing makeshift arrangements and challenges of all kinds.

It is a nonprofit organization and it has now become an established art and culture location. Artists and visitors from many countries have found their way to Perwenitz in Havelland. The exhibitions are open on weekends from early May to mid-October. And on weekends we run our little café with homemade cakes, Italian coffee and ice-cold drinks.

But there is so much more on our 10.000 square meters property:
A beautiful garden (based on permaculture) with all kinds of flowers, fruits and vegetables.
A little pond with fish and frogs and the option to cool down in hot summers.
Lots of space to create or play something (e.g. we have a boule- and a volleyball court).
We have 3 sheep who mow some lawn and some happy hens spending us fresh eggs.

Sadly my husband passed away 3 years ago but work and projects never stop and I would love to share with you :-)
My son Valentin also lives and works here.
And sometimes my daughter Toni and Sonja (Valentins girlfriend) stay and help and enjoy here. Both live in Berlin.
Furthermore we have lots of friends from Berlin staying here once in a while :-)

We have much of knowhow to share and exchange.
As an artist I can share my knowhow, artist studio and materials. Furthermore there is lots of natural inspirations by all the beautiful inspiration :-)
In case he has some time, Valentin can share lots of handycrafed skills. especially with metal materials.
Furthermore there are inspirational people living around here.

And of course - if you want - you will be able to improve German language skills by talking to us, friends, guests, visitors or neighbours.

We are used to have over night guests and will offer our little garden house to sleep.
We call it chicken house because the hens are situated on the ground floor :-)
You can see the tiny house in the pictures.

The house is situated in the backyard towards the Café. The shower and bathrooms are in the Mill-Building.
The house offers a kingsized bed in the roof and some couches/ Futons.
Could be, that you will be sharing the tiny house with another workawayer (but we will ask you before your stay). We also accept couple travelers.

We just started to share our lovely home on workaway.
So lets build a workawayer home together.
You´re more than welcome to bring your ideas and inspiration to it.

So far we are planning to build an outdoor kitchen in the backyard for summer workawayers.
Right now you can use the kitchen in the Mill-Building for preparing meals for yourself. Our big garden always offers something to bring in the table :)
And once a week I get groceries from the supermarket for us to cook.
We like to share recipes and meals with workawayers :-)

Perwenitz is a village. No stores, no consume. Our playce is very inspirational and mostly quiet.
If you need some action you´re welcome to spend some time in Berlin. You can reach easely by publivctransit. We can also arrange you a room to stay overnight at the shared appartment from Valenin and Toni.
