This is a small, family-run property, and we currently do not employ any locally paid staff. The farm and garden are mainly cared for by our family. My mother and father are always planting new fruit trees, vegetables and other plants around the house. Workawayers will help alongside our family with additional projects and improvements; they will not be replacing local paid workers.

We want our Workawayers to feel like part of our family and farm team—not simply visitors who come to complete a list of jobs. We will work alongside you whenever possible, explain the purpose of each project and include you in conversations and decisions about improving the farm.

During your stay, you may join us for family meals, help prepare Malaysian food and learn about our everyday way of life. We can introduce you to Malaysian culture, family traditions and the different communities that make Malaysia unique. You may also have opportunities to visit nearby markets, local food stalls and places in our surrounding community.

We can share our knowledge of:

    - Coconut and tropical fruit farming
    - Recognising and caring for different fruit trees
    - Harvesting and using seasonal produce
    - Malaysian home cooking and traditional ingredients
    - Simple farm maintenance and property-improvement projects
    - Local customs, food culture and family life
    - Basic Malay, Mandarin or Cantonese words and phrases

We believe cultural exchange should go both ways. We would love to learn about your home country, language, food and traditions. We also welcome Workawayers who can share useful ideas or skills in gardening, composting, sustainability, carpentry, painting, design, photography, social media or creating welcoming spaces.

You do not need to be an expert. We enjoy exchanging ideas and learning together. If you know a favourite dish from your country, we would be happy to cook together and perhaps share a Malaysian dish with you in return.

Our goal is for you to leave with a better understanding of tropical farming, Malaysian culture and local family life. At the same time, we hope every visitor will bring a new perspective that helps us gradually make the farm and guest space more welcoming, sustainable and enjoyable.

We are inviting volunteers to stay and help at our family’s coconut farm and my late grandfather’s traditional home. The farm is about 5 years old and almost actively producing coconuts, with around 10 additional fruit trees such as banana, papaya, mango, durian, guava, and more depending on the season. This is a hands-on, slow-living experience surrounded by nature and village life.

Work & Daily Tasks May Include
-Collecting trash and basic farm maintenance
-Watering and caring for fruit trees
-Small repairs / tidying around the old house
-Assisting with composting and natural pest control
-Helping prepare simple family meals (optional)
-Occasional errands or light work that my father supervises

    What Volunteers Get
-Stay in a clean, simple room in my grandfather’s heritage home
    -grocery stipend for everyday meal
    -Learning about small-scale tropical farming
-Cultural immersion — village markets, family routines, kampung lifestyle
-Free time in the afternoons to read, explore, rest, or create

    Schedule & Expectation
-4–5 hours volunteer work per day (morning preferred)
    -Minimum stay: 3–7 days recommended
-Respect for family home and village customs
-Non-smoking indoors, simple living, no party environment

This is not a commercial program — it is a chance to experience rural Malaysian life, help a family farm, and enjoy nature in a peaceful and meaningful way.

  • Alojamiento

    Alojamiento

A simple, quiet room in my grandfather’s heritage house — wooden walls, ceiling fan, mattress on raised floor, bright daylight, clean and uncluttered.

We provide food for three meals a day. Each Workawayer will receive a food budget of RM40 per day to purchase ingredients and prepare meals according to their own preferences.

You will have access to our kitchen, refrigerator and basic cooking equipment. You are welcome to use the available ingredients, seasonings and everyday food in the kitchen and fridge. When family meals are being prepared, we will be happy to cook and eat together whenever possible. We also hope you may occasionally share a favourite dish from your own country with us.

Workawayers are welcome to enjoy as much ripe fruit and vegetables from the farm as they like, depending on what is available and in season. This may include coconuts and a changing selection of tropical fruits, herbs and vegetables grown around the property.

We ask for up to 25 hours of help per week, normally five hours a day for five days, with two full days off. Meal arrangements and the food budget will also be provided on days off during your agreed stay.
